Purchased a car battery in 05/13, which has a three year replacement warranty. I took it back to a Walmart store in Fremont,CA and they asked for a receipt. I told them I don't have a receipt and it's been over 2 years. They told me "oh we have a new policy that was placed a month ago, you need to have a receipt, we can not do anything." What the *** was I to to know that you will have a new policy about reciept in two years. Then the assistant manager came and I was eventually told to call the manufacturer. When I called the manufacturer, they told me to go back to wall mart. I called the wall mart customer service and they told me to go to the store where I originally purchased it. Had no idea was mart would stoop this low. I guess along with "low prices" they should advertise "low customer service" as well.

They should be able to tell from numbers on battery when it was purchased. Policy at the time of purchase applies, not some arbitrary "new policy".

What planet are you from? Walmart has been here forever and selling the same *** forever.

Don't you do your homework online before you buy things. ? Everyone knows they sell junk. Why do you think they have really long return lines?

Spend a little more and try Best Buy. Just a suggestion.

Every time I go to Huntington, WV location, I get to go elsewhere because they're NEVER properly stocked. I'm about to completely boycott them because I've mentioned the problem to management several times and apparently Walmart doesn't care. So...if iI have to continue going elsewhere over COMMON ITEMS , I'll just start shopping where I keep having to go to complete my shopping. Just wasting my time and fuel coming here.

Walmart - Credit Account Review from Independence, Missouri

Late Billing and charging Late fees to innocent customers. Be aware it is systematic!! I have a respectable credit Line never have i experienced this kind of billing practices. Twice back to back I didnt receive an invoice and was sent. A bill withe late fees. I never had this in forty years!

How are you ticked that you were sent a late bill for a late bill? That's the way credit works.

I'm sure when you first activated your card you were informed of the due date, so even if you didn't get your invoice, which I also doubt, it is still your responsibility to make sure your bills are paid on time. After it happened the first time it seems like you would have taken even greater cate the next month to make sure your bill was paid on time.

It's too easy for people to claim their invoice was "lost in the mail", and that is why you are informed of the monthly due date. Pay your bills on time and you won't get charged late fees on your "respectable credit line".

That's not Walmart charging the late fee. That would be Synchrony Bank.

Walmart is not a bank. Therefore, Walmart is not in charge of the credit cards themselves. You can just use them only at Walmart. Direct your anger toward Synchrony Bank.

Finally, regardless of whether or not it's Walmart vs.

Synchrony Bank, you have just as much (if not more) blame in this situation. YOU used THEIR credit card. AKA YOU borrowed THEIR funds to pay for whatever YOU purchased. YOU knew YOU owed THEM money.

It's even more disturbing that it happened twice. YOU knew when the payment was due.

Also, if you borrow money, you are still responsible for payment regardless of whether or not you receive an invoice. You have the right to ask to receive a paper statement but that still doesn't absolve YOU of YOUR responsibility to pay.
