Walmart Savings catcher scam!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I had this happen too! What I've found is the Walmart cashiers are using the saving catcher function on the register.

See, they have different options when cashing out a customer. Cash, credit, debit and saving catcher. They DO NOT have to use the "Saving Catcher" option. That will apply any of your saving catcher $ to your purchase.

So if you have $10 in your savings catcher and purchase $20 worth of groceries and the cashier uses the savings catcher payment option. The system will apply the full $10 from you savings catcher to the amount. Then you will owe the remaining balance. To prove this, if you goto self check out, scan in your "savings catcher" app scan in all your groceries and at the payment options DO NOT use savings catcher, just credit/debit or cash.

The system allows you to do a normal transaction with NO $ being taken from your "savings catcher $" and you can submit your receipt allowing you to build up your "Savings catchers" balance.

See, Walmart IS NOT training their cashiers to ask "if you would like to use your savings catcher balance" they are just doing it regardless if your wanting it used or NOT! Even management has been trained to tell their staff to just apply customers "savings catcher" We whats the point of a Savings catcher if you can never save to use it for or when you want???

I have used self-check and if I use my Savings Catcher app, it automatically takes any balance and applies it. I do not get an option to not apply it.

Therefore, I believe the cashier's do not have that option either. This option was removed at the same time that the ability to scan receipts was removed.

I think that Wal-Mart should give a $100 Wal-Mart gift card to every thousandth customer.

With my luck, I'd go to spend it and find out that hackers had stolen all the money already.

Guest

It a shame the they ruined the savings catcher for people who pay by cash. None of my receipts register anymore since oct.

Guest

Yes, shame on Walmart for having such a program that causes nothing but problems. Losing them big money that could be passed along.

Guest

Hey dingbat. There is no savings catcher button for cashiers to press.

If you don't want the savings catcher funds used then go into the walmart app and shut it off like a normal person.

Maybe you need to buy a different brand of tinfoil for your hat. Or maybe, heaven forbid, read instead of assuming everyone is out to get you lol!

Lol, Hay Dingbat! DERP, You are a F'n idiot!

There is a prompt that the cashier gets when you scan your savings catcher QR code (if you even have any idea of what a QR code is) and log into Walmart's saving catcher. So just the fact your response was "to turn your saving catcher app OFF" tells me your are about the dumbest person on the internet. YES, You have to open your savings catcher app and scan the QR code so your receipt is registered into your account and you can submitted it for your "saving catcher" SAVINGS! I have an idea DERP, Look up how to use your "saving catcher app" anywhere on YouTube because you clearly have no idea how the app works!

They DO have the option of not using savings catcher 's credit or using the Saving catcher's credits when closing out the payment. Walmart has taught the cashiers to use customers "Savings catcher" credits every time! So, if you think, I think everyone is out to get me! Lol!

Ask the Walmart cashiers if they get a prompt when you scan in your Savings catcher account. Or infact do it yourself!

Goto self check go thru the Savings catcher process when you goto to cash out you will see it for yourself and the different options. There is cash, gift card, cedit/debit and guess what SAVINGS CATCHER!

There is not a spot for cashiers. It's for customers you anonymous idiot.

Hence the q code. Why don't you read up on the program you are trying to use?

Maybe because it is too much for little old you to comprehend. Continue living your stupid tinfoil wearing life.

Never received any answer from Walmart. Asurion, the insurance company for Walmart, sent me an e-mail asking me how great they were. I informed them how disappointed I was in Walmart and Asurion but never received any comment.

Original review Apr 04, 2019
I purchased a 50" Samsung LED TV from Walmart.com on Nov 2016, together with a 4-year extended warranty. The TV lost its picture and sound in Feb 2019.

After attempts to get the TV to function via computer, Walmart's Customer Care Team, Asurion, agreed to have the TV repaired at its depot. The repaired unit was returned to me by UPS. Unfortunately, the TV was physically damaged, probably because it was dropped during transit. Asurion then agreed to replace it BUT the choice of replacement was either a Polaroid or a Sceptre model---each retailing for much less than a Samsung.

I complained to various supervisors at both Walmart and Asurion that if I wanted an inferior product, I would have bought one. "Too bad" was the answer. I was given 48 hrs to make a decision.

All this with an extended warranty! I chose a Polaroid with a picture that is not the greatest and a reputation that is even worse.

You were a fool for purchasing the extended warranty and you were a fool from buying your television from Wal-Mart in the first place, and you were a fool for trusting the incompetent slobs at the USPS with delivering your television safely. You should have just bought a television at a Black Friday sale and not purchased any kind of extended warranty, because as any fool knows, they are a gyp 99.9% of the time. You should have DEMANDED that they replace your television with the identical product or give you a FULL REFUND!

HAT'S OFF TO NORM YANEZ!!

Hat's off to CELLAIRIS and moreso to NORM YANEZ! Going back a few months my HP Pavilion wasn't a happy camper and the repair shop I would have taken it to had moved. On a shopping trip to WalMart, saw the CELLAIRIS sign and stopped by and chatted with Mr. Yanez... I did that a time or two and my assessment was...here's an honorable man!! He proved himself admirably! The repairs were done and the cost was well below what I anticipated...and the machine is chugging along better for having been taken under Norm's professional care. Having proven himself beyond a doubt... I then brought in an older HTC and once again Norm performed magic! The smartphone is up and running properly and once again costs were extremely fair!! EXTREMELY!! I suggest if you need a phone or computer looked at... drop by and chat with Norm at CELLAIRIS (4505 E McKellips Rd, Mesa, AZ 85215 (4**)-**0-7013)... I'm pretty certain you'll be as impressed as I have been... CHEERS!!

Saving Catcher Changes

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
What I dont get why are you getting rid of the price matching on the savings catcher. I think it's a bad idea. There are a lot of people who use that app. Your not thinking about the consumer all you care about is money. You dont have to luve paycheck to paycheck. Well in the real world the customer s that use the app. Has to save every penny they can. And dont tell me you did a survey about thus topic. When i know there has not been one done. Also what you dont consider is that not everyone has a checking account. So theres changes are not fair. Why sont you start listen to the customers. But i guess no one dont care as long as your making your paycheck. Take this advice it just might help you realize the real world. Ppen your eyes to the big picture. Stop being so closed minded and what to make all these changes. Before you actually do your homework about the consumers and thier opinions. You have upset a lot of customers. You also think these changes are for the best for the company. Well your very wrong all its done is padding your pockets. So its time to do some soul searching if you remember how to. Stop letting your job title go to your head. We are all still humans but people do forget at times. All the changes in the stores dont benefit the employees or the customers. Its only benefitting the hire ips pockets.

Wal-Mart got rid of the price matching because people kept trying to scam them by getting a price match on things that weren't exactly apples to apples or oranges to oranges.

I too was refused a medication prescription

I have taken the same meds for over 4 years for the same reason (DUHHHH!!!!). I just moved here form another area and transferred my RX's from my last Walmart to this one.

Out of nowhere, the pharmacists started giving me a hard time filling an RX for Tylenol #4, which is the lowest of pain meds.

I have had back surgery (failed); I have had 10 nerve blocks put in, I have undergone injections in my neck (4 of them), and in myu lower back at least 4 or 5 times. I have been in PT half a dozen times..

They "threatened" to call my Dr....They did..my dr. told them to fill it, all was ok, they have my whole med history.

Walmart stll refused. I told them by law, though they can refuse, they must refer me elsewhere...Their reply" I did, I told you to try somewhere else - try CVS or Walgreens...THAT IS NOT REFERRING ME ELSEWHERE...

My dr. is upset..

What to do - I have never take a 30 day supply in 30 days - I try to make them last at least 60 days, even if I am in pain - which I am 24/7...I never ask for me nor ask for early RX's..

I could understand them questioning it...But when they call a DOCTOR, WHO STATES THEY KNOW MY RX HISTORY AND TO FILL IT, AND THEY STILL REFUSE......WHAT THE HECK?

WHAT NEXT...

WILL WALMART START REFUSING AN OVERWEIGHT PERSON A CHERRY PIE AT CHECK OUT?

WILL THEY FORCE A VERY THIN PERSON TO BUY THE CHEAPER FATTIER HAMBURGER MEAT???

I AM SHOCKED AND DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO.

Once, when I was living in a *** century old apartment building, I went to close my heavy window and it feel and broke the tip of my finger. I was naked at the time and had to struggle just to get dressed and go to the emergency room.

The doctor game me a prescription for Vicoden and I got the generic version that had the word WATSON written on them. Let me tell you something, that Vicodin stuff works real good. Not only did it take away the excruciating pain from my broken finger, but it had me feeling higher than the trees as well. It was so good that I went to Wal-Mart and tried to fill a prescription for some more even though I had recently gotten one from Kroger.

The lady sternly gave me a lecture that that was a big "NO NO!" I loved the way the Vicoden made me feel! Just Awesome and Far-Out and Groovy and better than any kind of wacky tobaccie ever could do!!!!

What to do? Go somewhere else. Seriously.

Go to your state's main website and find the agency that licenses and regulates pharmacies. A quick search gave me this link to help you: https://www.pharmacy-tech-study.com/pharmregulators.html File a complaint with the FDA and whichever state agency you find that regulates pharmacies.

In the meantime, transfer the script or get a new one and take it to a different pharmacy. As an aside, given the problems/symptoms you described and depending on the state you reside in, you might want to consider, as an additional pain reliever marijuana. Do some research. Being dependent on opiods is not a good, long term option for pain relief, as you probably already know.

There are alternatives nowadays.

As for Walmart refusing to fill the script, what can be said, other than "what do you expect? This is Walmart."

Got ripped off!

Walmart - Got ripped off!
Walmart - Got ripped off! - Image 2

I ordered some fitness items from Walmart.com during a Pre-Black Friday sale on Nov 17, 2018. My recipt on the 17th said my order would be ready Nov 28th.

It was to be sent to one of the local stores I shop at for pickup. On Nov 21, I received an email saying some of the items were delayed and that I would receive another message when the items had arrived. I received another message a couple of days later saying there was still a delay on some items. It was never clear in the emails which item(s) they were referring to.

It said I could wait until all of the items arrived and pick the whole order up at once. I was then told on Nov 26 that it would all be ready after 6pm on Nov 28. Then later that day, I was notified through the app that an item was being returned for non-pickup! I clicked the button to cancel the return, it asked was I sure, I said yes.

I got more email messages that the order was still delayed all through the next 3 days. I finally got a notification that my order was ready to be picked up on Nov 30th.I went there today, Dec 1, and found that 4 of the 5 items were there, but the other item had been returned anyway. I contacted help on the website and the agent I chatted with said they could not reorder the item for me at the original sale price. I would have to pay almost $50 more for the item if I still wanted it!!!

I think they canceled it on purpose (as I wasn't told it had arrived until it was returned) to force the inflated price on me!

I can't remember for sure what the original price before the sale was, but I think it was lower than they want now. Not happy!!

Disappointment

I shop exclusively at Walmart and generally I am very happy. Last week when I went to Walmart I purchased the Great Value brand of Swiffer wets and was great disappointed. They were very dry and I had to use twice the amount of sheets that I normally would. This is a product I will never purchase again.

Don't Stand behind Customer

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Brought a 55' Samsung TV, with a purchase plan, the plan sucks, it don't cover anything they say it would on their behalf. I unplug my TV to move it off the wall and put on a different wall when I plugged it up again it had cracks in the inside of the screen not the outside, I file a claim and never heard back from them. When I call the service center they told me I had to call the warranty department(after three weeks not calling back) for them to tell me they don't over cracks on TV. The cracks were inside how its my fault. The suggest that I Call Samsung to see how much it would cost me to have it fixed. Walmart Purchase Plan is a rip off and it don't stand behind its customer. I will NEVER purchase any electronics items or purchase Plan from there again.

I find it har to believe the screen cracked on it's own. Yes, it is possible for the indie to crack and the outside to be intact.

Most warranties don't cover DAMAGE which this obviously is.

Admit it, it's time to go shopping for a new TV. Don't expect someone else to pay for the TV you damaged.

Gift Card Fraud

I bought Christmas Gift Cards for my employees in 2018 as I had done from Walmart the last couple of years. I spent approximately $3000.00 dollars on gift cards. In 2018 there was an issue of fraud with their gift cards. Someone had somehow stolen the code numbers off the back of the card (inside job?) even though they weren't scratched off. When some employees took the cards to Walmart to use the were told the card had already been used. I had 4 cards total to date that were compromised in this manner. I had contacted Walmart and they had reissued me new cards for the first ones discovered. Then I had another employee had the same problem with her card. I turned in the purchase paperwork and front and back of the card as I had done previously but they denied refunding saying they weren't responsible. What? It's my fault your company had sold me a compromised already used gift card? I will never buy gift cards from Walmart again, if fact I won't even shop there again. As I told them keep your $25 if it's so important to you but you're losing thousands from future purchases. I've bought a TV, computers, inks, household supplies office supplies, business supplies. Never again will not step foot in Walmart again. Terrible company policy.

You do realize Walmart workers are human, and need to eat too, right? A pharmacy, by federal law can not operate without a pharmacist present, and most pharmacies only have one pharmacist on duty.

That means, when they go to lunch, the pharmacy closes. Not that big a deal.

Employment verification

My son was terminated from Walmart. I asked him to get a letter stating that he was terminated.

(I needed this as verification) They told him there was a website that agencys could access and they would get that info they needed. A few weeks went by and was notified that i needed that verification. Well to make it short and sweet.... i told the agency that he worked for Walmart and they said oh good we can verify through website.

To which it came back his staus was still active. Great just another issue. I called Walmart told them all this asked why if this was the case 1 they wont write a letter 2 he was on there system as inactive. At this point i was angry, why do you provide a service that does not work?

really? The system does not work. Why is this exceptable? I then asked questions about this online site and asked will it say he was terminated?

HR couldnt answer that question. So now you have people that dont know how this website works but is the only way to get verification? Again my son was told he could not have a termination letter that it could be obtained through the site. The site that the agency can see is not what Walmart sees and why?

Walmart you need to fix this and train personal on how your system works. You put all this in place but it only half ***
