Walmart 50" TV Ripoff

1.7
Details
My daughter ad I searched all the ads for the best deal for a TV in the Black Friday sales. We chose Walmart because they "guaranteed" your item. All other stores were only what was available in store. Obviously they didn't have all the TV's in stock (my guess is they didn't have any.) After shopping for an hour there and getting the receipt for the TV were left the store. The next morning my daughter tried to enter the item number on a website to register for the TV. The website said her number was no good. She tried again in case she had made an error. The website told her to go into the store because there was a problem. We had to drive back to the store just to be told they wanted us to call an 800 number. The 800 number tells you they can't help you because you don't have the correct ID number. The offer was from 6:00 - 7:00. We left by 7:00 so we were within the required time frame. Now we are told our receipt was wrung up wrong. Whether this was intentionally or not on the part of Walmart they should have made it right. I don't mean by refunding my money. I could have looked at other stores but didn't because of the "guarantee." Now we are just out of luck. I will tell this story to everyone that will listen and will NEVER shop at Walmart again.

Had a similar problem as the one described here. Fortunately, I went back to the store on Thursday and after about 30 minutes one of the associates finally figured out how to ring-up the transaction correctly.

One of the associates stated that the 1-hour Guarantee transactions needed to be completed by 2 am (presumably my time). Walmart needs to do a better job of training staff for special transactions such as this one.

If you have your receipt, you may be able to seek assistance from their toll-free customer service division. Good Luck!

Thousands of people apparently h a d this issue as well as myself. The store can void your receipt and ring it up again and you still have until the first to register it online with corrected receipt.

Or another option is you can fill out a rain check with a copy of your receipt attached to it and the store will provide you with a tv when they receive one just as if you would have registered your receipt or the store can offer you a suitable replacement for the tv you payed for but will not receive.

At least this was the info that was given to me. Please respond back and let me know how it goes

Walmart - Xbox 360 Review from Ripley, Mississippi

My husband stood in line for black Friday which was on Thursday? ?! He was suppose to be the last one to get an Xbox 360 for our kids because they said they only had 13. Then the lady came back told him they only had 11. Then we watch as the 2 other women behind us were given 2 more Xbox 360's! This is very unprofessional and unfair to the public! I was so made I went home and purchased one for another company other than walmart!

Wow - Crazy!!! I thought only 1 item per person and those people behind you were probably friends/family of walmart employee - lol.

I stood in line for over an hour just to be told that the ACER laptop couldn't be located in the back of the store.

Left my name and number. Several calls later was told basically item was never put on truck for shipment.

Needless to say I will be calling corporate on my local store!!!

Unfortunately, with Walmart you sacrifice competence and customer service – just to save a measly couple of bucks. I went to this particular Walmart (Walmart store # 937, 2795 Chastain Meadow, Marrietta, GA 30066) to send some money via MoneyGram. Well for one, the...

Walmart 50" Television

First of all I am a grown women who normally don't participate in these kind of games. I pay full price for my items. Anyway after a whole lot of calling around a Manager of a store in Clay New York who actually helped me in North Carolina get my television, The store that I bought it from called and said I would be able to pick my TV up. People read I called the store at 2 and asked if I could come early to get a ticket to purchase the TV until the sale I was told no!!!! at 6 they would not start the sale until 6..... I got to the store at 5:00 and had to wait in two lines... How does someone miss a TV and still check out by 6:30 for a sale that started at 6:00.

Walmart - Cashier Review from Chicago, Illinois

I checked into this because the same thing happened to me. Due to the inexperienced cashier, you didn't received the proper receipt for 1 hour guarantee that has the correct TC number to register your product right away. However, you would not have known because I made several calls to the 1 hour guarantee hotline until I figured it out. I went back to the store an hour later and explained the situation and got the right tc number if you don't registed the product with the 1 hour guaranteed receipt they will have to refund your money that is the only option

It seems like you are the one inexperienced with your terrible grammar, it should be register not registered. Perhaps you read the instructions wrong. Next time get mommy or daddy to read the instructions on the receipt for you.

Walmart - Layaway Review from De Soto, Missouri

I spent 3-4 hours christmas shopping and wanted to put it in layaway, stood in layaway line to be told that i couldnt put clothes in layaway...i dont have to buy toys, electronics, small appliances..because i mostly have adults to buy for and they prefer clothes..i left very angry and left most of the stuff behind because i couldnt afford it, so i am going somewhere else. Walmart you just lost a valuable customer..and will be spreading the word..you have taken my last dollar..it seems to me that the founder has a little bit of smarts and was thinking about the customer, today not so much about the customer.

It is not their fault you didn't know.

I agree, it is not their fault that mommy or daddy was not there to read the layaway policy. The terrible spelling and grammar obviously give away the fact that this person is six years old.

I have to say one good thing about her though. She is a very generous child and is thinking of giving other people gifts this Christmas.

Ever since WalMart started the Christmas lay away program, several years ago, it has been widely advertised what items could be put on lay away. Furthermore, if you would start shopping earlier in the year you would't have to use lay away.

I have been completely done with my shopping for six months. When I see something that I know somebody wants or needs that is in my price range I buy it. Usually buying one or two things a month. I also have half of the gifts wrapped and under the tree.

I never buy clothes for gifts because of how fast fashion ideas change it is pretty hard to know what each person would like in the line of clothing. The fact that you tried to put clothing on lay away proves that you haven't paid any attention to the rules that get posted and talked about on TV and radio.
