Baskets

When I shop the Wal-Mart in West Chester,Ohio there are seldom handheld baskets at the entry. I go looking for one. My complaint is, when I checked out, the cashier wants me to return the basket to the front of the store. Its not a big deal, but, this is asking the customer to do a job that a Wal-Mart employee should be paid to do. Better Yet, put up a rack to collect the baskets, showing where the baskets are for the customer. Don't ask the customer to do the job of the employee. Good Customer Service will keep your customers returning.

I agree. This person is just pure lazy. Makes you wonder what their house looks like.

#361239

That right there is pure laziness on the customer part your walking out that door anyway the associate can't always leave his or her register to put baskets up especially when they are busy.

An anymously associate concerned about our thefts

Iam an concerned associate who works at the new store in Asheville,NC. Store #4428 and Iam writing in concern of how our laptops are constinetly getting stolen & no one's doing anything about it but making jokes. Im writing anonymously because Im worried about our inventory coming up which also takes away from our bonus. Just this year,we have lost around 15 computers right out the front door and last year was maybe 5 laptops and 2 tvs. I really think some action should be taken but noone seems to be doing anything about this and its upsetting to others that also work very hard in that store and has to suffer consequences because the managers just think its a big joke. Please help!!!

They pulled a fast one

So I put a lot of faith and money into this guy's organization just to find out it was all a scam. So be on the lookout for anyone claiming to be or know god or his partners jesus, moses, vishnu, santa claus etc. if it hadn't be for that 5th grade science textbook I never would have figured it out. It seems so simple now, of course! Logical, rational and proveable explanations for the world around us and the nature of being. I feel so silly, so taken advantage of. I went to Wal-mart to buy some groceries around 12:40 p.m. today. I go every day, and I am called here MS. WAL-MART. I love the store. I know so many people there. Everyone always seem so friendly. I bought $35.25 worth of groceries. I paid $15.25 with a check and gave...

So you are mad because she asked you for ID?

You do realize that this is probably company policy and she has to ask you when you are using a cheque right?

I don't think you are smarter than her. If you were you would have not asked about IDing the debit card user.

I know our difficult it is with a newborn and mommy shouldn't have to be going to the store. I'm not surprised walmart was out of the wic required milk, many wic uses wait until the day before the wic card expires especially with milk so it will no go bad before it is used.

Since this complaint was posted over a year ago I suspect the hateful people below just wanted to show their cruel heartedness. They are ugly mean heartless people.

Terrible Treatment

This evening I went to walmart. It's not my favorite place to go but I needed to try and return an ink cartridge that an employee had sold me when I bought my printer. It was the wrong cartridge. I knew full well prior to attempting to return this item that they may not take it back. It was opened. It wouldn't work in my printer so I thought it was worth a shot. The customer associate at the service counter left briefly to ask a manager if the item could be returned. When she came back, she informed me that it couldn't be returned. Aside from her neck tattoo and her unkempt appearance, she was professional and kind. She told me I could speak with the manager if I wanted to and I thought it would be worth a shot. After all, it was an employee that suggested I buy that ink. (I bought a printer from walmart. I didn't know that ink came with the printer and asked the same employee that had helped me choose a printer to provide me the ink to go with the printer. They did. It was the wrong ink.)I thought that there was a slim chance that because it was an employees error, perhaps I would be able to speak to the customer service manager and obtain a more favorable result. I approached her and very kindly explained what happened and how I ended up with the wrong ink. I was prepared for another no but I was not prepared for the response that I received from her. Her reply was "We can't return the ink." I said "Even though it was an employee error?" (I was still being very even tempered.) She replied very rudely "Well NO, if we return it then we have to eat it!" My even temper quickly turned to hot tempered. I could not believe I was being spoken to in this manner. I said "Oh, so I suppose I should just EAT IT?" I was more upset about her tone and the unprofessional manner in which she was speaking to me than anything. I reminded her that it was an employees mistake that resulted in me ending up with the wrong ink. She raised her voice with me and in a very confrontational tone said "It was YOUR responsibility to be sure YOU had the RIGHT ink when YOU bought it!" I replied "It was the electronic departments RESPONSIBILITY to sell me the right ink to go into the printer that I bought WITH the ink!" and with that I turned and walked away from her. I was so angry. I was insulted and shocked. After I calmed down I walked back to her and asked her for her superior. She called them and I waited by the service desk. I waited for 20 minutes before another employee came to me and informed me that Brandon was unavailable but Sam would be out momentarily. I waited another 5 minutes. Another employee approached me and told me "We're going to go ahead and do your exchange." I said " I am not even worried about the exchange now. I am worried about the way I was just treated by the customer service manager Leza. I want to speak with a manager. I was treated unfairly and in an unprofessional, disrespectful, condescending manner and I am far beyond being worried about my ink." This employee told me that the managers were "not able to come out." After 25 minutes waiting, my suspicion was confirmed. Wal mart was not concerned with customer satisfaction at all. It was not a priority for them. I will NEVER ever shop at Wal mart again. They can contact me when they're ready to have a real customer service manager, ME. Had this manager simply said "I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you and for the error of our employee. Unfortunately, it is the store policy that we do not accept returns/exchanges on ink cartridges. I understand your frustration and I hope that in the future, we are able to assist you without error." THAT would have been fully acceptable to me. Being treated like garbage by a CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER who has the interpersonal communication skills of a convicted felon was unacceptable. Note to Wal mart, you would have more customers, happier employees and generate more revenue if your stores weren't run like a homeless shelter. I have no interest in ever buying any of your higher price lower value items ever again.

A lot of imbeciles and naive children commenting here that obviously have no clue what customer service is. It's pretty evident they've never had to deal with a *** employee attitude either.

They're hypocrites too.

If I were to lecture and belittle you for trying to return something, I can guarantee you won't be singing the same tune lol.

I would have pushed until this trashy "manager" got fired. She obviously had no business dealing with customers nor the capacity to speak professionally.

#583055

Honestly...i think all of the commenters saying wahhh he's being a big baby are *** I have worked in customer service for years, and I can tell you I have had rude customers that ended up with nothing and nice customers that ended up with me calling my DM to figure out something extra for them. However, no MATTER HOW RUDE, I WOULD NEVER say to someone, I cant return it because we have to eat it...

Well it is quite unfortunate that the customers shopping there pays that *** salary...so she should be a little more appreciative. And if I was her boss, I would have written her up or fired her. I do not tolerate poor customer service...that is not how a company makes money.

Now it is unfortunate that this one experience made the person never want to go back...but this is the view he now has.

But he has every right to feel this way. He was treated with absolute disrespect, and it should not be tolerated for anyone dealing the the general public...especially with customer service.

#570630

I think its highly probable that people might try to return ink cartidges that no longer have ink in them. It would then make sense that they would not do a return or exchange b/c the product had been used.

Further, just b/c you say the employee recommended that ink, doesn't mean you weren't lying. People often lie to get their way even if it means throwing someone else under the bus.

#570317

I have had that same at problem at a Walmart. They told me to wait for one manager, then they switched me to another.

Finally, some junior manager made his way to the service desk after about a 20 minute wait. I wouldn't be surprised if Walmart trains their customer service managers to run that game in order to discourage the customer from making certain types of returns.

#570312

You people leaving comments are so full of ***! I bet anything all of you have been in the EXACT SITUATION at some point in your worthless lives and asked to speak to someone higher up!!

I guess you guys would have just said ahwell, right.........and I wouldn't be the lest bit surprised if you sorry redneck country losers work at Walmart!! And if you find it as a stretch that a employee would talk to a customer like that at Walmart then obviously you have t shopped there much

#439156

SK

How clueless are you. Do you actually believe that the person told her that they had to eat it?

She just made that up and the real thing is this baby thinks telling her no is equal to rudeness.

Telling a child off who deserves to be told off is not wrong by the employee. She treats others like garbage she should be treated the same.

#439152

Your parents should have been shopping with you to make sure you got the right cartridge. Also if you knew you would have problems why did you try to make the return in the first place? What are you like eight?

#439033

sold me fake light bulbs :( :( :( :(

#361302

I agree with OP.... Idk if you should've been able to exchange it or not, but if your job is customer service you can't be going around telling people stuff like that.

That's so crude and disrespectful.

I think OP made it clear that they didn't really car that much about the ink, they just didn't think they should be treated like *** just for seeing about a possible exchange. I don't feel like they should be either.

Was a 10 year employee

I used to be an employee for 10 years. I had 2 jobs. Walmart was my primary job. After 10 years of service they told me that I must open my availability in order to keep my 35 hours full time position. I told them i cant because I have another job. They said well unfortunately if I don't open my availability they would have to demote me to a cashier and give me these crazy hours. Before I got fired they gave an average of 10 hours a week. Now I can not afford my house, and the bank is taking my house. I have no where to go. Thank you walmart!! This company is a modern day sweatshop!!!

Walmart

Do you buy groceries at Walmart? I was shocked to watch an employee putting away grocery back in the freezer section. I have actual film of this. My friend and I checked on the groceries that had been put away and the food was not only thawed but warm. This included a package of boneless/skinless chicken breast. I went to customer service and the manager was actually rude and said, "I doubt that happened." When I told her I had footage of it, she said it was illegal and I could be sued. Go right ahead Walmart, let this hit the press. The store is #1631.

You shouldn't just take the bags. You ask first.

I can't tell you how many times people just come and take a bunch of bags. Those bags come at 500 to a box and cost the company $20 a box. Also, often there is a shortage of bags.

The cashiers need the bags to put customer's merchandise in especially, those large bags that the bus riders like to take. Seriously, if you need bags for your medium sized wastebasket, Walmart does carry them with the other garbage bags.

I like how people`s poor spelling and grammar skills makes them look like they are seven years old yet they call someone who is old enough to work a girl. Same with that seven year old Becky ASSuming that someone works for a company when they state the truth.

#877791
@PissedConsumer877789

Becky is the same person as who wrote the review, hence the horrible spelling and grammar. My guess is she was caught stealing and is posting negative reviews because of this.

You are right about one thing she is seven years old.

If not the educational system is failing deeply in her state. However I think she is seven years old because she did not read the sign that said cash only and she expected her to be allowed to cut in line when she returned after using her parents debit card to get cash from the ATM instead of waiting her turn for her mistake.

#368001

this is a walmart you are writing about. in arkansas.

there is no need to ever make a complaint about walmart, or anything related to arkansas. the whole world knows they are vile.

i would strongly suggest going to a walgreens or kroger pharmacy. yes, since it is in arkansas you will still get *** hilbillies who can barely walk upright but at least your money will not be directly supporting this abomination and blight on the face of the earth.

Wall Mart stores not following tv ad's

The Wall Mart store in Harvey LA had two different prices on their Sams Club sodas. One area stated $.84 and another stated $.78. At checkout the sodas rang up the higher price but the cashier would not give me the lower price. The TV ads indicates the cashier responce should be no problem or I can do that. Also for the longest time their milk prices are extremely high at $4.68 per gallon while I can easily find milk at other stores for $4.29. How do they compare prices to maintain their TV slogan of "lowest price always".

Low Tech

I went to the Pharmacy at Wal-Mart's and wanted to buy some Sudafed so I gave here my license and for 5 minutes she punch over a hundred time into the screen. I leaned over and ask what the problem was and she was rude and told me not to look at the screen. I can go to Walgreens and with one swipe of my license and 5 seconds later I got my stuff. I like Wal-Mart's but this one off of 75th in Phoenix is really bad and I have had so many problems there. I even walk out 3 times with my basket of groceries left in line because the word slow doesn't even begin to describe this place.

Performing a task, eg., leaving a basket full of groceries due to long, slow lines and then doing it again and again is a sign of a mental illness. You cannot keep doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result!!

WalMart is what it is: bloated with inept workers and clueless management who do not understand what customer service should be.

Do what I do---shop at Meijer. Or, anywhere but WalMart.

100 dead pet fish with rude manager animal cruelty

I went into Wal Mart to purchase a pet fish. when i got to the tanks over half of them were dead, sinking floating and stuck to the filter. Not only did I find this disturbing and unacceptable but when I went to speak with a manager about it, he told me that they had been having problems which obviously means that they didn't fix this problem to begin with and continued to let the fish die. I fully believe that something should be done about this. Its animal cruelty!!! If you went to a pound to get a dog or a cat and half of them were dead something would be done about it!! Absolutely unacceptable
