Walmart Forces Their Brand on Consumers

Over the last year or more I have watched Walmart get rid of name brand foods and replace them with their own store brand, the wonderful 'GreatValue.' Like the old generic brands of food, the labels are simple. The shelves are a sea of white and black (or blue) and the label tells you what is in the packaging and that's it. Nothing fancy, nothing out of the ordinary. That's fine. I have no problem with them integrating their product onto the shelves. I have purchased a variety of that brand through the years. But today I was looking for flour and sugar and that's all there was. No Robin Hood, no Gold Medal or any other brand...just theirs. Now I think they're taking it a little too far and I think something should be done about it. When they just had a few items in the store it still gave us the choice of what to buy. But I have a real problem being forced to buy their brand and I just won't do it. I have been buying Robin Hood flour for 20 years and I'll be damned if I'll stop now because of WalMart.

Walmart selling missing or switched DVD's

In four different instances I have purchased dvd's from walmart that have either had an incorrect DVD in them, or no DVD at all. When I take the case back to the store, they tell me that thieves will sometime slit the package and steal the dvd. This I could understand, but why would they switch a dvd. I purchased Tinkerbell for my 4 yr old and there was a movie in the case that was scratched, old, and not rated "G". The problem with this last instance was that after the third time I started checking the plastic coating to make sure the package was not tampered with. Tinkerbell was wrapped completely. The manager swore my daughter had to have switched the disc with one of my other movies. A) I opened the package. B) I did not own that particular movie. C)I had checked the package before I purchased it. I purchase movies (almost 1000 DVD's alone) all the time from there. They have given me my money back since I ALWAYS! keep the receipts. It's just a pain to return merchandise that should be in its package when I walk out the door.

The Walmart store doesn't have anything to do with the shipping. They didn't "magically" do anything while you were on the phone.

WALMART SUCKS

BOUGHT A CONAIR HAIRDRYER AT WALMART IN VANDALIA OHIO. THIS WAS TO BE USED ON TRIPS AND PUT INTO MY SUITCASE. FIRST TIME USED SPARKS AND SMOKE SHOT OUT. I TRIED TO EXCHANGE ITEM. FIRST I WAS AGGRIVATED NOW I AM PISSED. CUSTOMER SERVICE, MAKE THAT DISSERVICE CLERK TOLD ME TO GET ANOTHER FROM SHELF. MY MODEL WAS NOT INSTOCK, BUT ANOTHER MODEL WAS THAT WAS CHEAPER. SHE SAID NO TO EXCHANGE, THAT I WAS TO GO TO ANOTHER WALMART AND FIND AN EXACT MODEL. I SAID I WANT TO RETURN IT THEN. THE BAG I HAD UNIT IN HAD THE RECEIPT IN IT. I ASKED HER TO DIG IT OUT OF TRASH. SHE SAID NO WAY, SHE WAS NOT GOING TO DIG THRU THE TRASH. I ASKED FOR THE STORE MANAGER. I WAITED FOR AN ETERNITY. NO SHOW. I ASKED HER AGAIN THIS TIME I HAD LOST MY PATIENCE.NO SHOW AGAIN, THIS TIME I DID NOT ASK, I TOLD HER TO GET HIM. SHE TOLD ME TO LEAVE THE STORE OR SHE WOULD CALL SECURITY. THIS IS MAJOR *** I HAD JUST SPENT OVER $45 AND WANTED TO RETURN ALL, BUT I HAD WASTED ENOUGH TIME, AND THE LINES WERE NOT SHORT AT CUSTOMER DISSERVICE. I HAVE A PIECE OF *** HAIRDRYER AND NO RECEIPT. WLAMART HAD GOTTEN SO BIG SCREWING YOU AND I. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

Walmart in Palm Beach, Florida - Security Intimation

I went to the Jupiter, Florida Wal-Mart (2176) on February 11, 2010 at 12:15 PM. I picked up several Valentines Day gifts and proceeded to make my "big circle" around the store. I saw an item in the Sporting Goods department that was locked up which I wanted to buy. I waited for about 5 minutes for an employee to come by. No one came by. I went to the next department to find someone who could help me and there was no one there. I went around the whole back of the store and could not find one associate. I picked up the phone in Sporting Goods and asked the operator to call someone to help. The operator paged for assistance. I waited another five minutes and then called the operator back asking them to page an associate again. No one came. At this time I had been waiting over twenty minutes for assistance. I picked up the phone and contacted the operator and asked to speak with the manager. This got results fast! A rather large intimating gentleman came back and without identifying himself, told me to get off of Wal-Mart's phone. I asked him why and he said because he said so! Again, he never identified himself or showed me any ID. After I hung up the phone, I explained my situation to him and he said he would get me assistance and left. Guess what. I still waited. Finally after 35 minutes of waiting the employee who worked in Sporting Goods returned. She told me she had been at lunch. She was extremely nice and helpful, but the manager's actions were unacceptable. I find it amazing that they could find what I must guess was a Loss Prevention Officer in two minutes after I had asked to speak to the manager, but were unable to find a sales associate for 35 minutes to allow me to make my purchase. Shame on you for providing such an intimating shopping experience for me I will limit my shopping to other stores in the future. I find it incredibly difficult to trust Wal-Mart any longer.

Walmart in Richardson, Texas - Wal-Mart steals

Hello, I have colon cancer and a trip to the store is a challenge. I went to Wal-Mart (my favorite store) and stopped at the gas pumps. I put my PayPal card in and the pumps were closed. I went on to the store loaded up with 70 dollars worth of stuff, went to the register, and my card was no good. I checked via phone and the gas pump charged me 75 dollars. I had 67 cents left. I had to leave milk eggs, my kids have nothing to eat tomorrow. I'm sure this will take a week to straighten out. In the meantime, I am sick and my kids will suffer -- welcome to corporate America.
