Walmart Food Store - Bad Management

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

After many bad experiences with expired food, beverage products, and poor attitudes from employees, I had to call it quits! I had worked with employees and management and had given them suggestions to help better their store. Check out people refusing to bag and fill cart on 3 different occasions! This was pointed out to management each occurrence but continued to go on. Managers confirmed with me each time that this would not happen again, and they would meet with employees to enforce expectations. The store manager Chad O'Malley failed to handle the situation in a professional manner, and had negative feedback towards me. I have been in Customer service for over 25 years on a global scale with nothing but praise from all of my customers never receiving a negative complaint. I know how to handle people and most any given situation. If managers such as Chad O'Malley are the future to represent WALMART they will continue to loose business. I normally do not write negative comments but this guy really got under my skin.

I have now chosen to do my shopping elsewhere!

I work for walmart as an assistant manager. I assure you if you work retail you have a complaint about you within a week of working in a store.

People complain about everything, and usually it's just to get something for free or discounted. I do not agree with a lot of things that walmart does but 99% of the things are handed down from corporate, and we at store level have little control. For instance we may only have 3 cashiers at 9 am on a Sunday and may have 6 at 1pm .... now I would love to have all registers open but I don't have the payroll to do so.

Our store has about 300 people and now we have about 920 hours total for the employees to share. It's far from perfect but as long as people continue to flood in and spend money it won't ever change.

Walmart reports 100+ billion in profits a year. Doesn't really sound like complaints are hurtting business does it?

Guest

I think people expect too much from minimum wage employees. The responses listed are of worse grammar and spelling. Just let it go everybody and move on...............

Guest

Sounds like employees with their guard up! I would retaliate as well if I did not do my job!

Consider the source, shelf stockers and others that just scan a code.

One day they may be sitting across my desk looking for a job. Karma

Guest

I find it hard to believe you have been working at any store for over 25 years when you do not know the difference between lose and loose, this basic thing is taught in the third grade. Your only complaint is they are not putting items in your bags, stop being lazy and do that yourself.

Maybe he did talk to the employees and they just ignored him? Why are they not fired because it is your word against theirs. I am sure he won't be missing your business because you sound like a three year old trying to cause trouble. Also in your 25 years of customer service I am sure you were not perfect.

I am sure you got complaints from an *** customer such as yourself. You have no right telling other people to do their jobs and have a lot of growing up to do. Anonymous, this liar claims she has never received a single complaint, and everyone praises her, this obviously is a lie, also I think she is lying about working in retail for 25 years because judging from her childish attitude and terrible spelling she is eight years old.

How can she have worked in customer service for 25 years if she is only eight years old? How can she hold a job if she is eight years old?

Guest

So now you are an expert in customer service and you feel you earned thr right to tell other people how to do their jobs and run their stores? People like you kill me.

You get a couple of compliments and you think you know more than god himself. It is not a cashiers job to fill your cart. Thats your job! Also, the cashier does not bag large bulky items or items that have handles and are easier to carry without a bag.

Your problem is that the praises you got went straight to your head and now you want to tell everyone how to do their job. Apparantly, Chad didnt give you the praise you think you deserve and you got mad. Im sure you wont be missed and.

the next retailer you visit is already cringing at the very thought of you walking thru their doors. Afterall, how was it that these stores survived before you came along and set them straight?

You did not hear the news did you? Walmart will be going out of business because they did not take her advice, the whole entire chain is filing for bankruptcy.

Because they lost this one customer they will be going out of business, oh wait that is old news, someone is pissed at Target and will be shopping at Walmart from now on.

That customer saved their entire chain. Now Target will be going bankrupt, no wait the OP will save them by going there instead of Walmart.

News that Walmart is planning to attend next week's Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Beijing has been extremely welcome. China is thrilled to have Walmart as one of our guests, especially as the success of any initiatives that emerge from APEC rest squarely on cooperation between China and Walmart for hot sex.

Most Walmart employees do care.

Walmart employees get accused most of the time for not caring, which is not true for many employees. The average employee cannot fix problems such as empty shelves, lack of cashiers and not enough grocery carts, just to name a few of the complaints they hear day in and day out. Some wish they could fix many of the issues that they encounter, but the more major issues are not in their power to fix. Contacting the store manager or calling corporate may be the best answer and will hopefully provide a result to the customers' liking or something brought to the manager's attention.

Wal Mart Loss Prevention Associate Assaults Women, for suspected theft.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I watched a Richmond, KY Wal Mart LP person we'll call him Bim Tanks rip a ladys purse off her arm, and drag her to the floor for suspected theft. She wasn't yet he still works there.

I didnt realize they could attack me then see if I had stolen something. He said that is how he treats every potential thief, so he has their drivers lisence should they run fron the store.

When I tried to intervene he told me he could do whatever he wanted we were in his store. When I tried to ask for the manager he told me to leave the area or he would have me arrested for making threats.

You should have kept your nose out of it. Instead of intervening you should have went and found the manager, or called 911 and reported it.

However, I find your complaint to be suspect. It sounds like you have an over active imagination.

No legitimate security guard would do that and risk getting into trouble.

Why should I he attacked me for no reason and accused me of theft when I did not steal anything. I had every right to defend my friend because it was my friend he was attacking, he falsely accused both of us of shoplifting.

We are both 15 year old girls and he made my friend strip do her underwear to make sure she was not hiding a weapon. Then he ripped her purse off her arm and dragged her in her bra and underwear, when I tried to intervene he accused me of being an accessory and then did the same to me. Then he asked us to empty our pockets and we had nothing in our pockets, then he asked us to open our purses and we had nothing in our purses and the police believed him and not us. He accused me of theft, and at first my parents are like you we did not steal but then it turned out we accidentally forgot to pay for something so he made us take our clothes off to make sure we were not hiding anything, then he asked us to empty our pockets and purses in front of people.

He showed our parents the camera and here is the truth. My friend and I were looking for our money to see if we had enough to pay for the lipstick and we did not know we put the lipstick in our purses that is how he found the item in our purse. It was an accident and we did not know we put it in when checking our purse. He said he treats all shoplifters like this and if we steal we deserve to be embarrassed in front of everyone.

We did not steal anything they did not find anything on us. I asked for manager and the he told me to leave the store. But then he made me go back and said he was arresting me as an accessory.

This happened last year and he still works there we were 15 at the time and banned for a year for an accident. I came back a year later and he is still there, I am now afraid to go in this store in case me and my friend are set up again.

And you believe someone who keeps changing her story? If this is true yeah you are right she should sue them.

At least her parents will since she is 15. However this sounds more like a teenager who is angry because she and her friend were caught shoplifting. Why would they be stripped down to their underwear and then be told to empty their pockets?

If he really suspected they had weapons he would handcuff them not force them to strip down in front of everyone. I am sure this story is exgaratted a bit.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-875161

Anonymous is correct, first she claims she was defending a total stranger from him, then she claims it was a friend. Another time she claims she made them strip down to their bra and underwear and dragged them across the store then she claims he made her empty her pockets after doing this.

She also claims nothing was in her friends purse then she claims that her friend accidentally put the lipstick in her purse. Then she claims she was set up(meaning the lipstick was planted in her purse??) This does not add up.

But by calling the cops they would get into trouble for making a false police report. I just don't buy this. If this really happened the father would come back to the store and beat the living *** out of this security guard.

Walmart - Shopping Assistance Review from Fairfax, Virginia

I'm very frustrated because when I went to check out (as everybody knows they have 20 registers but they just open 5) I meet a cashier wich in the beginning told that she was new associate, I could notice that because she was so slow well I understand that, so of course after she rang me up I gave her the coupons that I have and one of them needed I guess and aprove, she turned her light on for a manager to come, I saw to of them just talking and talking and she was waving at them they pretended not to see her and It was unbelieveable because one of them was looking at her, after exactly 12 minutes that nobody approched to help her I decided to pay whatever it was and when I was about to leave they came and ask if everything was right and when I told them that we were waiting for them they start laughting and stearing at me, I work in retail and I know that when you have a new associate you can not leave them alone because she/he is the face or your store, looks like Cuatomer Service it is not Walmart priority so dissapointed

Well with spelling and grammar like retail and fast food is the only kind of job you can have, also if you work in retail why not go shop at your own store. You must think you have the ability to read minds if you think you know they saw, her perhaps they did not see her.

Maybe they were laughing at your poor English. Instead of worrying about the terrible service you got why not work on your spelling and grammar.

oh, boy so much for a service plan...

Perhaps you should understand what you are buying? The service plan is quite clear, and quite typical between retailers all over.

It is called and "extended warranty". "Extended" because it extends the term of the MFG warranty for some period of time after the MFG warranty expires. It is also a contract entered into by your paying for it, and it applies to the item with which it is purchased - that exact item. I believe you have 30 days to reverse the contract, then it becomes firm and not even Walmart can amend its terms (like refunding it, or applying it to another copy/replacement of the device for which it was purchased).

Even from just glancing at it, It is painfully obvious that it is NOT a "just bring it back to the store for a free, no hassle, replacement any 'ol time, for any 'ol reason" kind of thing.

So, if you make the store exchange it after 30 days, you have to buy a new warranty.

The item you are returning is the one that is covered, under contract, and the new one is not. That's a choice most stores let you have, but it is you that is forfeiting your contract by giving your covered device up for exchange. Maybe it's better for you, or may it's better to continue through the process with warranty company.

Only you can say.

"To get your nut" To participate in an activity that results in ***. Usually exclaimed, directed at a person.

"Nut" refers to semen, and thus, to get your nut, is to ***.

When the female counterpart is aware of the meaning of this phrase, it is usually more polite to instead say, "GYN". The female may or may not understand this abbreviation.

Rude sales person-treated me like a criminal or worse

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Went into Walmart in Leland, NC to purchase a camera. It was about 8:00 pm. but customers and a sales person were still in the dept. Inquired of the individual behind the photo counter about a camera. Clerk said she did not have a key, went to get someone. Another associate saw me hanging out around the cameras, asked if I needed help. Explained the other lady had gone for help, none had come. That lady came back a few minutes later and said the lady with the keys was trying to get free to help me, but kept getting tied up. I waited just a bit more and what I think was what they call a Customer Service Rep showed up. Lady had keys and wore a vest like maybe low level mgt. Well, when we began to converse it was obvious she did nit want to be there. She had a hand held device and the whole time she was texting or doing some kind of data entry on it. She broke from that to explain both the cameras (a Sony and Canon) were clearance (still had yellow price stickers, not red) and were the only ones, no box or anything. I said well OK, forget it since they are used cameras, no box and minimally marked down. I stepped a couple feet away over to the camera clearance case (where the official clearance items were) and saw an Olympus in the box with a decent markdown. She somewhat grudgingly let me look at it, ferried me across the back of the store several aisles to electronics to allow me with her watching to open the box and check out the camera. I told her "Look, I am not buying this yet, I need to see what it looks like and if it is OK" She watched me, I oKed the camera and said hey, I needed an SD card and Case, so she walked me back to cameras (several aisles over again) and watched me get a case. (I had already stepped over and picked up an SD card). Then when we went to check out where we had opened the camera was not where she wanted to check it out so she barked at me "You need to come to this side register", I gathered the camera and box and whatever else I had and followed her. She checked me out as I was telling her how hard it was to buy from Walmart and if I had been able to wait I would have bought this item on line. Walmart is doomed, thier failure and demise is assured with people like her. I will NEVER buy a camera at Walmart EVER AGAIN (and would not buy anything else there but they have put so many specialty stores out of business there is hardly anywhere else to go>

Seriously, you are making a big deal out if nothing. I really don't see anything in your complaint that should have made you mad.

You were not the only customer in the store but they got with you as soon as they could. They have to watch you while you are handling any secured device; any merchandise that is locked up on the sales floor due to high theft and price. And every cashier/associate cannot use every register all the time. Maybe the other register was already counted and closed or wasn't working.

How hard was it for you to walk ten or so feet to the other register. I think you were just cranky to begin with and are taking out out on the hard working associate.

Guest

I understand from your attitude and the fact that you cannot spell the simple word "not" that you are seven years old, however you should know if you are opening a box they will be watching you. Unless you were planning on stealing something you should have no problem with this.

Walmart - Rude Customer Treatment Review from Kernersville, North Carolina

I was walking out of walmart, on peterscreek, in winstonsalem,nc on 10-17-14. The door greeter stopped me and wanted to see my bag with my purchase. The scanner peeped as I was going out. It always does and coming in. I asked did she want me to go back thru? She flung her arm out and said no, it will peep again. I said I don't have anything on me, do you want me to go back thru? Again she flung her arm out and said no, it will peep again. She said to just go on. She was rude and loud. I did not appreciate the way she treated me. I called the manager. The manager said that was her job. So I guess her job is to be rude.

These door scanners seem to be constantly going off whether something is in your pockets or not. It seriously makes me wonder if they've hired some joker in Security for the sole purpose of making the alarm go off deliberately just to *** people off.

One time the *** scanner went off when I had nothing on me but a bunch of pocket lint. I jokingly said to the greeter "Guess I'd better return this pocket lint to you, your scanner seems to think I stole it." I had the woman in stitches for some time before she finally explained to me how it's always going off. Sounds like Walmart won't even spend money when it helps themselves.

But back to the topic at hand, yes it is technically the door greeter's job to stop customers when the scanners go off.

Most rarely do it though, because there's so many false alarms it's really pointless. You got stopped by someone who was doing it "just in case." It's always the safest bet.

First B
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-887149

I don't think that they are making the alarm go deliberately, they are either messed up or someone is walking by with one of those tag things.

Guest

You should have flung your arms out and got rude and loud by mocking her. Maybe then she would have realized show she/looked sounded.

Guest

How was she rude? Did she hit you when she flung her arm out?

There are a lot of people that use hand and arm motions/gestures while they talk. It's time for you to grow up.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-886229

This person is obviously three years old not giving him his way is the same as rude to him. He will grow up, but leave him alone, it is apparent from his behavior he is only three years old. Stop picking on a three year old okay.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-886312

Objecting to rudeness does not make this person immature or 3 years old. I think you are the one that needs to grow up.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-886371

You need to learn how to read, and perhaps you are three, the thing making this person immature is mistaking not getting his way as rudeness. You grow up. Have mommy read the reply to you.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-886371

Like another poster said this was not rudeness, people have different ways of communication, some need to use hand gestures, for him to be intolerant and ignorant with this makes him seem like he has the maturity of a three year old. The person making the comment does not need to grow up, the OP does and possibly you as well for not being able to read the comment for what it said.

He interrupted this as rude, just as someone can interrupt his constant asking if he should to through the door again as rude.

He also seems to have trouble hearing because he asked the same question twice which some people would consider rude. Maybe he is older than three, but it is apparent he is still a child who needs to be supervised while shopping.

Just got back from a grocery run. It has become the norm these days to have a handful of items scanned at a higher than listed price. No one should be surprised by that; these guys are notoriously bad for that!!! What got me today though, was the new "scammer" strategy these guys are using. That is, listing items with "rollback" pricing thats exactly the same as the price was the last dozen times or so. Hey genius. It is called deceptive marketing.

When products are listed as "rollbacks" they are a sale price. No different than any other store and must honor that price. Walmart does this all the time! List a so called rollback and at the checkout it is normal price or more.

That is not misinterpreting labels or grabbing the wrong product, it is deception! Dumb cookie!
