Walmart - Return Problems Review

Like many others I have been a regular customer of Wal-Mart. That ends today. I tried to return a product. Don't try this, in their defense, oops more than 15 days, & seal on box broken (that way when purchased). Their policy is etched in stone, no exceptions. Not one but 3 assistant managers (one of whom,Joanne, has the personality to remain in the back room) would make an exception. The store is in Cooper City Fla. My new policy is to NOT SHOP AT WAL-MART.

This person either has a low IQ or is 13 year old to not understand the policy after not, one not two but three people tell her the policy. Then they expect them to bend the rules just for them, yeah this person is 13 all right.

Guest

Their policy is spelled out - and you are mad? Really?

They tell you what you can expect...and you get mad? You should be mad at companies that don't tell you and you don't know...but they tell you what to expect and you are mad. Wow...the nerve of some people these days.

No wonder our society has the problems it does.

Poor Customer service and incompetent staff

I went into Wal-mart in Waynesboro Va. to have my oil changed and tires rotated(which I paid for life-time rotation) After waiting 2 hours the tech came in and said that he was done but did not rotate the tires because they did not meet their spec which neither he or the rude manager that came to assist could produce.. As a matter of fact they have very prominent signage that states that they do not check tires for safety but they claim my tread depth was questionable. The store manager called me today and offered no help whatsoever. Very displeased with the way this situation was handled and will be shopping elsewhere from now on

Are you even old enough to drive? I ask this because only a child would mistake being told "no" as rudeness.

Called a *** by a cashier today.

I was in Walmart today at your store in Sunnyvale, California today. I was going through the self checkout. The computer froze on me and started messing up. So I called the cashier over to try to straighten it out. She was leaning on the podium looking all bored and she seemed a bit annoyed that I called for her help, even though she did talk in a fairly friendly tone at first. I was getting frustrated and she didn't seem to be able to fix it. In fact, she really seemed to be not too interested in helping me and she seemed to be just pushing buttons to make it look like she working on it. She finally said that she would have to close the lane and I would have to go to another lane. I told her how ridiculous this was as I started to load my stuff back into my basket. I didn't yell it or anything, I calmly and rationally said it. I glanced back up as she was walking back to her stand and she mouthed what I believe was the word *** to a cashier working at another checkout lane. I can read lips well so I know that is what she said. That was the last straw. I threw what I was holding down on the ground and told her "well, this *** is leaving." Before I left I went and reported her to the CSMs. I called her store manager today as well but he just told me that I have no proof that is what she said. Her name was Jennifer H. and I am reporting this to as many places as I can. I Will NEVER darken the doors of this Walmart again!

So.... everything that is said is about you!

Maybe she was talking about the situation, or, equipment.

In the likely event she was commenting about was a great experience it was working with you, you felt justified to destroy merchandise, complain about how unfair you were treated, and leave all your items in a heap! Your fortunate they didn;t call the police.

...and so concludes another episode of "Nightmare Customers"!

Guest

Wow. Just wow.

People like you make working retail a living nightmare.

Maybe the poor employee wouldn't be acting this way if hundreds of other people didn't pull the same entitled *** you did. Hate to break it to ya, the would does not revolve around you.

Guest

You don't have any proof that that is what she said. You gave her attitude from the start.

If you don't want to be called a *** then don't behave like one. Honestly you behaved like a five year old when you threw the items on the ground.

Maybe you are five throwing a temper tantrum. The more people you report this to the more they will see your behavior as childish and immature.

First B

She had no right to call you a b-tch but come on you are accusing her of purposely pushing buttons to make herself look helpful, you got mad at her when a machine did not work. This is not her fault so you had it coming to you.

Guest

Well, if the shoe fits...you sound simply awful to deal with. It was not her fault the register was broken.

These things happen. You were p*ssed at having to move to another line, but get a grip, it was not like she could wave a magic wand.

It is because of disgusting customer behavior like this that makes retail employees hate their jobs. GROW UP!

Guest

If you don't know that's what she said, you shouldn't be accusing her of it. Also, its not her fault the lane went down,k technology is flawed everywhere and they are limited ad to what they can do to fix it.

I'm sure you weren't as calm and rational as you claim. You probably threw a fit and threw your stuff in your cart like a child.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-844789

Actually this person threw the stuff on the ground, if it were not for the spelling and grammar I would have thought this person was five years old based on her behavior. She may be a grown woman but she acts five. It was not right for the cashier to call her a ***, but then again if she acts like a *** she should not be upset someone called her a ***.

My purse was stolen

While shopping in the shoe section my purse was stolen out of my shopping cart. I reported it to security and the police came. Appears there are no security cameras in that department. I was asked if I noticed anyone around me. I stated yes there was a Walmart employee that kept walking past me when I was trying on sneakers. They dismissed it and me. I was told they would search the store for the purse. The next day when I called to see if they found it the manager on the phone knew nothing about and didn't seem to care either! It appears this is a daily thing at Walmart! The 22.97 sneakers have cost me over 500.00! Thanks for nothing Walmart. I'll shop at Target from now on!

If you think Target doesn't have purse snatchers you are going to be very disappointed. Also it should not be the store's responsibility after the fact to catch a purse snatcher using security cameras when you could have prevented it by watching your purse.

Darvin Zfx

I'm sorry but I know we are not getting the whole story.

If you think these things don't happen at Target then you are delusional. Target is just Walmart in different colors, higher prices, and refusing to cater to rural America.

First B

I have to agree with the other posters, it is not the stores fault the purse was stolen, at least you are not like another poster who demanded the money be replaced. Think it was written by a mother of a Burger King employee where she demanded they give her daughter back the money that was stolen from her.

Guest

Next time give the purse to mommy or daddy. I assume you are a child because if you were an adult you would admit to fault to being careless, the reason you lost the purse was because you were careless. I know being six years old you think everyone was raised to do the right thing but sadly there are bad people in the world.

Guest

Of course the only person you saw near your shopping cart was a WalMart employee. Did it ever occur to you that when you are looking at/trying on merchandise you should keep your personal belongings with you?

There was absolutely no reason for the shopping cart with your purse in it should have been out of your sight for even one minute. The theft was basically your fault for being careless with you belongings.

Another Walmart customer complaint I have.

People on my other complaint here on Pissed Consumer touched on this yesterday, but I forgot to mention them. There is another complaint about Walmart customers that I need to vent and get off my chest. It is people blocking the aisles talking, people walking right in the middle of an aisle yapping on their cell phones and not paying attention, and people who just leave their cart right in the middle of the aisle blocking it while looking at stuff. No empathy for others. Most of these people are grown *** people too. They should know better. Another complaint is parents who let their children run amok in the store. Seems a majority of them are hispanic people too. It just ticks me off. Many of these parents are probably in this country illegally as well. We are letting our nation be invaded and I am sick and tired of it!

gee i guess in my neck of the woods its white folks who let thier kids run all over. and by the way i am white.

when you run over one of the little brats say oh excuse me i didn't see you. this happens everywhere. most people on in thier own little worlds and never come up for air. and most can't walk and chew bubble gum at the same time so what are ya gonna do.

you often wonder how they get out of be in the mornings. guess thier beds are in a corner and theyhave to crawl out the end.

This sort of thing happens everywhere and yes it is annoying...

What does this have to do with pissed consumer and companies?

Your *** is showing.....

That happens anywhere you go. Not WM's fault.

No need to get racial either. I'm sure someone has been behind your slow, aisle hogging behind thinking the same thing as you.

The regular employees at WalMart aren't responsible for cleaning the bathrooms. That comes under the heading of maintenance.

If the toilet seat was as bad as you say it was, how could you not see it, instead of almost sitting on it. Or is that a major exaggeration, that you almost sat on it? Also if the store is as bad as you say it is, which I highly doubt, because any place that handles any type of food is inspected, on a regular basis by a health inspector. Also they don't have floor walkers watching for shop lifters.

You must be living back in the day, to even use that term. WalMart has a security person on duty most of the time and they are using the cameras that are located in the store, with the security people located in the office watching monitors. Who do you think you are to be judging whether or not people should be fired? The employees can't catch every spill as soon as they happen, look where you are walking and you wouldn't almost fall in spilled, cracked eggs.

Instead of worrying about how other people do their jobs, maybe you should worry about your extremely poor grammar, and even try using real words(gonna) isn't a word. If anything it is slang. Also are you aware that when you type in all caps you are shouting at us and we haven't done anything to you. If you want your complaint to go to WalMart you have to go to their website.

One more thing, there are some stores that if you take pictures in them you can get into trouble. Consider this, before you end up getting in trouble.

If you don't like the store quit shopping there, That would solve your problem.

Guest

Grow up.

Talladega Walmart, not enough employees to take care of customers

I went into the Talladega, Alabama Walmart and gathered up the items that I needed and went to be checked out by cashier. I stood in line for 20 or 25 minutes and when the line got to where I was next to be checked out, the cashier turned her light off and put a closed sign at the end of her line with at least 10 more customers behind me in the line. We then had to go to the back of one of the other 3 lines that was open and wait another 20 minutes. Every customer in the store was as mad and upset as I was. I was in line 10. I do not know the cashier's name. I did not get close enough to see her name tag. This was my worse trip to ever shop in any store. I have about decided to go to the Piggly Wiggly to do my shopping.

Also how do you know that every customer was as mad as you are, there must have been at least 300 customers in the store, did you ask each and everyone of them? Nope this is a lie since you claimed you were in the line the whole time, being caught lying how can anyone take you seriously huh? If they were angry perhaps they were angry at you for pestering them?

That is what she did, trust me I was there and she asked me several times, and I said no, but then I got angry and said yes. I was mad because she would not let me shop in peace.

Guest

How did you know the other customers were mad as well, did you do a survey or something or are you one of those psycho's who thinks they have the ability to read other people's minds?

Walmart - Customer Abuse Review

I was accosted by Walmart security. He literally put his hands on me without identify himself. Him n my husband toddled over the purse. Needless to say he found nothing. I am mentally traumatized by this and cannot go into Walmart without breaking into tears. He did not have any right to put his hands on me. I am thinking of seeking legal action. I was embrassed and I am in turmoil.

Have you actually convinced yourself that you're not a thief? If this has happened more than once at different venues then I'd have to say you're probably guilty.

It doesn't matter. In my experience, "security" rarely harrasses people for no reason. Whether the other comment was from the op or not I'm sure she gave reason to be confronted.

Guest

Also when I went back to store to ask for video tape to prove that I stole he did not give me the video tape to take home, I think he is going to edit the video tape to make it look like I stole, this editing of video tape happened at Target to make it look like I stole baby formula so I would not be surprised if Walmart did the same. I asked for his first and last name and he did not identify himself, only as security, he even called the police on me and bribed them with donuts to make them come and say I stole.

Guest

So there is a Target / Walmart conspiracy to convince the wor;d that you perpetrate misdemeanor-level crimes and the only way to blow their cover is with a physical VHS tape? That's intense.

Injured

Yesterday evening June 23,2014 around 9pm I was looking for accessories for my bike, while walking down the isle bikes were left off of the racks and just all over the place. I maneuvered my way through but not until I hit my ankle on the kickstand of one of bikes that was leaning against a shelving rack with the kickstand in the up position. I was frozen in pain for a minute as costumers just looked on. When I looked down at my ankle I noticed that I was bleeding. I limped to customer service to simply get something to clean my wound and cover it, when the rude young lady put a first aid kit on the counter and walked away. After I rummaged thru the box I told her that it didn't have what I needed not even band aids she said " that's all we have that's the only one for the whole store". I was starting to think that maybe I wasn't in freakin walmart where there are isles and isles of first aid supplies but instead of being rude back I just told her to call the manager. While I waited for him to come I was just going to call for an ambulance but as I reached for my phone there he was. The manager Mike was very pleasant and apologetic as I told him what happened and rushed to get me some peroxide, tissue, and a band aid and that's all I wanted to start with. As for the rude girl I never got her name, and my ankle so far it's ok if the swelling doesn't go down before I have to be to work I will be going to the Dr and seeing my lawyer.

And any judge should tell you that as soon as you noticed the isle was unsafe and you took it into your own hands to continue you forefeit any claim. If a bike had just fallen off the rack onto you as you walked down the isle that would be one thing.

But to clearly see danger and keep going forward that is your decision and the store should not be held liable. It's almost like seeing the wet floor sign and trying to go sliding down the isle.

Guest

Agrees, this is exactly why she should be holding mommy's hand. That way mommy can make her avoid walking into a dangerous situation. Had this little girl been holding mommy's hand none of this would have happened.

Guest

You saw that the place was a mess and walked through it anyway? Then you wanted to know why an employee couldn't pull stock off the shelf and use it at will?

And if you weren't going to get your way, you were going to call an ambulance and have them apply a band-aid?

Really? Best of luck to you and your lawyer.

Guest

How is not having supplies rude? For you to call a grown woman girl when you act like you are six years old is wrong.

You are supposedly an adult(though I doubt this based on your assuming she was rude) you tend to your own cuts.

Next time hold mommy's hand when shopping and don't run off so you don't get hurt like this again. The only one acting like a girl is you.

Guest

Really, you were going to call an ambulance for a cut ankle? You must have hit the bike pretty hard to cause an open wound. My guess is you aren't being completely honest.Maybe you were horseplaying in the aisles or riding the bikes in the store.

Walmart - Review in Supermarkets and Malls category from Mountain View, California

Regarding my order # 267711****734. Jessica C. responded that my spray paint shipped today, August, 28th, 2014 and if I had any other questions, to please reply to that email, Walmart Customer. ... I replied to that email, but it came back delivery failure, not a valid address, so I will reply here: I hope Walmart doesn't make a habit of holding my orders until I follow up. I appreciate that Jessica C. replied so expediently and that you shipped my order. Thank you.

Walmart - Glasses Review from Mesquite, Texas

I bought a pair of glasses at the vision center and payd almost 300 out of pocket after insurance. The glasses kept loosing the scew where it holds the plastic covers to your nose. I returned at least 3 times by the 4th time i decided to get a new pair. The same problem occurred i returned to the center and asked for my glasses to be repaired. The employee then took my glssses to the back to work on them as she came back out she went straight to her coworker and started to whisper. I asked if everything was om then she stated the glasses broke and were not repairable. I then asked what the process was after she broke my glasses. She stated i had to purchase a new frame full price bur then she stated she could give me a 20% discount. I was shocked at her responce and she was very rude blaming me that they were already broken. I asked to speak to rhe supervisor and was told she would be in during the week and they didn't have a phone number for her to give to me. I graved my glasses went home. I kept calling the center asking for the manager and was always told she wasnt in or was in a meeting. I finally decided to contact corporate office and made my complaint. Not even 24 hrs passed when rhey contacted me and reviewed my complaint. She then told me that my glasses were replacevable for free and that the supervisor was going to call me back to apologize. Sure enought the same day the supervisor called and askes for me to come back so they could place my order. All this when all they had to do was replace my glasses without all the bs. Ps. That same day i received my glasses decided to pick up my kids order 2 pairs that i ordered 2 weeks before. Guess what happened. They were giving me someone elses order and didn't even read the names. As i explained to them they were the wrong glasses they kept telling me that it was my order. As i picked up the ticket i read out loud the name and it was not even close to my kids. Sucks

Walmart - Money Gram Review

My boyfriend had asked me to attempt to pick up a money gram for him. He wasn't sure if it was under my name or his name, so he thought it would be worth a try. I get in line, fill out all the information and answer the security question correctly. Instead of telling me that the money gram is under his name and that I can't pick up the money gram, she tells me that what I am trying to do is fraud and threatens to call the police. Even though she watched me speak with my boyfriend on the phone. Extremely ununhappy with Walmart right now.

Walmart - Replacement Review

I am at the moment a disabled person for i underwent surgery for a total knee replacement. I have to shop on their electric motorized wheelchair for i cannot walk threw the store just yet. I was treated very rudely at there deli, it was very difficult getting down alot of isles cause there were displays in the way, i could not reach alot of the items on the shelves because they were too high up, and omg trying to get into the bathroom with a motorized wheelchair and out was unspeakable. I wish there was a better organized store that would cater to handicapped people i was so upset and flustered by the time i left. I know i will not be handicapped for long but i feel for the people that are.Walmart needs to have more for the hhandicapped people and they should really interview their employees alittle better. This older lady that was in the deli at their goshen store was really rude and didnt help at all i finally had to speak up and ask if anyone was going to wait on me i was not rude or *** at all to give anyone a reason not to want to wait on me.

You sound like an entitled selfish brat, get over yourself. The layout of the store was fine for YEARS before you had a knee replacement, but now you see the world through new eyes and have decided Wal-mart has been wrong all along. You poor slightly inconvenienced baby I feel sooooo sorry for you.

Sabin Xox

Electric carts don't fit in bathrooms.. I tried! LOL!

Guest

What do you want them to do, put everything within four feet high and lower their shelves, move all the displays and make more disabled washrooms. You seem to want preferred treatment because you are disabled, screw the rest of the world.

This is the way most stores are, don't like it take someone shopping to help you. They should not have to lower the items on the shelf and remove sellable items other people want just to cater to selfish and self centered you.

Guest

I use the motorized carts in various WalMarts all the time. I have never had trouble when I ask an employee to reach something for me.

I have also seen people use grabbers when they are on those carts. Being your handicap is temporary, don't you have anybody that could go with you to help you. Any WalMart bathroom that I have been in is big enough to get into and turn around on one of those carts. Granted you can't take it into the handicapped stall, but you can get close to the stall.

Also being you could walk into the store, you should be able to stand up somewhat to reach items on the shelves.

I have also politely asked other customers if they could reach items for me too, and they are perfectly willing to help out.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-867129

The difference between you and the OP is you do not want preferred treatment because you are disable, while this employee wants it. She seems to want them to lower their shelves and cater to her needs. Next she will demand that the employees bend down and look in her face when she wants help.

Trying to help cashier

Bought a wallet (with no price tag attached) so brought another along for cashier. Was charged twice and given the wrong one( noticed in the parking lot and had to return to exchanged). Upon coming home I checked my bill and noticed error. Cannot return, as I only have one wallet??? Cashier in a huge hurry. Service was poor, poor, poor. Will never return to that store!! Should a person stand at the cashier station to review all these items before leaving causing even worse customer service??? I will in the future not be trying to help a cashier if this is the result!!!

I am a Walmart cashier from Ohio. Simply take your receipt with you to the customer Service department and explain to them what happened.

They will make it right with you. You can either get the wallet you paid for or get your money back. I want to add an FYI, returns without a receipt will automatically go on a Walmart gift card.

Good Luck-Sorry you had that experience. The reason the cashier was in such a hurry was she is on a quota-meaning she has to hit 1,000 scans per hour.

Guest

Next time bring mommy shopping with you so that she can explain to the cashier that you wanted wallet A and it had no price tag on it so you bought Wallet B to scan. The cashier is not a mind reader and had no idea that you did not want both wallets.

You are obviously nine years old because an adult would have known at the time that they were charged double. I know that it makes you feel big and independent to shop without an adult but in your case you just showed you are not capable as yet.

Perhaps in a three years when you are older and more mature you will be, but right now it appears that you are not since you expected the cashier to be a mind reader and know that you wanted only one wallet scanned and were using the barcode for the other because the one you wanted did not have the barcode. Take mommy shopping with you so she can explain this for you.

Guest

If you were given the wrong wallet, that means that the one you took with for the cashier to see the price, could have been a different price. It is also a very good possibility that the wallet you got was considerably higher priced than the other one.

They do have people that the cashier could have go and check the price of the wallet that you wanted, which would be the logical thing to do.

As far as wasting time at the check out, in this case being you didn't mention buying anything other than the wallet, it wouldn't have delayed things that much if you had checked your one purchase. In a way this is your fault for bringing two items up to the register for pricing and only wanting one of them.
