Verified ReviewerViolation Americans with Disabilities Rights Act
I shop at the Wal-Mart Store #1796, Amherst, NH frequently. Getting right to it, my issue is the neglect of the retailer in providing a fair number of motorized auto-carts for its disabled consumers which WORK!
For over a year Ive brought this issue to the service desks attention, and I'm told many other customers have complained as well. All were told is that management has been reporting it or its expensive. Unacceptable, Strike 1!
My shopping experience on January 4, 2023 put me over the edge. I arrived at the store to find NO WORKING AUTO-CARTS!
Another woman was entering the lobby at the same time and she, too was upset, sharing that she had also complained before. Now, with my push-cart in hand, I was literally on my way to the Service Desk when I encountered yet another woman who had an auto-cart but moving short distances at a time! I asked if there were any other auto-carts from the other end of the store and she said, No. She continued to tell me that when she got the auto-cart it was displayed as fully, 100%, charged but it quickly dropped to 15%; hence the stop and go.
She would go about 10-15 feet, shut down for a few seconds, turn it back on and continue to crawl her way out. Unacceptable, Strike 2!
I suffer with rheumatoid arthritis and my right knee has become bone-on-bone. My husband is still learning to walk again from a shattered femur he suffered in 2021. If theres not a working auto-cart, we go back home.
Having to use the standard push-cart on Jan. 4, by the time I got to my car my knee and back were aching more than usual. Strike 3!
Ive been reading up on ADA legislation and WalMart could be facing a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Specifically, where businesses are to provide reasonable transport opportunities for its patrons.
I left my name and number with Mandy; frankly, expecting a callback by now.
This is a serious issue! Respectfully submitted.

Verified Reviewer | Bentonville, ArkansasViolation of refund policies.
I have informed them of my filing in which I’ve filed with two agencies already and they want to accuse me of violations to cover their own tracks.
I decided to return the item. $33.04 was used on a Walmart Gift Card and the rest was purchased using my debit card. I started the return online and when I went to the store to return it with the receipt barcode, the employee told me the whole amount would be placed on a Walmart giftcard. Which is absurd.
Walmarts own return policy clearly states original form of payment is refunded with the receipt. It was well within the 30 days as I had until the 31st of January which the app clearly shown. My attempt to return was the 26th of January. I go online to chat with a representative explaining this and they told me refunds did go on original payments but supposedly my order was already refunded and they refused payment back to me.
Apparently, they do not like accountability and I got an email stating my online account was closed. Thats very retaliatory when I did nothing wrong yet they did and when caught decided Id just go away if they deleted the account. But, per the email, I can shop in store as often as I like.??? I have a right to speak and I stated facts like the fact I would file with the FTC and several other agencies.
Walmart is no dictatorship nor can they just decide to give me a gift card so I wont spend my money elsewhere. They broke their own return policy. Then on top of all thatthey say potential fraud on my end when the only fraud culprit is Walmart.
The FTC currently has a fraud case against them and their money centers fir having scammers fraudulent along with their own stealing money from customers. I personally will be filing with the FTC and numerous other agencies.
- No pros except being great at taking peoples money
- Everything from orders to delivery bad within a
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Shops elsewhere and maybe pay extra but, it’s worth it in the end. Over 500 complaints last year ending in lawsuits…should speak to something.

Verified ReviewerTelephone Etiquette
You have GOT to be kidding! I called WalMart Pharmacy in Black River Falls, WI today, December 18, 2022, at 3:32 pm and was immediately placed on hold without a nanoseconds chance to even take a breath in, yet alone say why I was calling (or YES to being placed on hold) of course I wasnt ASKED if I could be placed on hold to begin with; I was TOLD I was being placed on hold and the receiver was set down without further adieu!
I waited 14½ minutes without so much as anyone checking back to see if I could continue holding! The man who then picked up the phone did not care one iota about the fact that I was upset for being DUMPED into a black hole like a nuisance call and left hanging for 15 minutes! I informed him that all I needed to do was let someone know I could not get there today to pick up my prescription; it would be tomorrow. Then I added that putting someone on hold without asking is about the rudest thing he could do. He was condescendingly sorry I felt that way textbook blow off the customer speech to which I replied he clearly had no customer service skill whatever.
I said that a phone caller is a customer just like the ones in front of him, and he noted [in the same condescending, matter of fact tone] that there were other customers ahead of my phone call. YOU DON'T LEAVE A PHONE CALLER ON HOLD FOR 15 MINTUES*!!!
So I asked to speak with someone that might give a rats *** about phone customers, and he said, Maam, I am the pharmacist, as if that was suppose to excuse his *** poor customer service. I said, WONderful, and hung up the phone. I wasted only ONE MINUTE of HIS time!
*SURELY, when a PHONE rings, someone can ANSWER it in a friendly manner and find out what the caller needs BEFORE asking them to hold if necessary! At least then the caller knows they are not merely an interruption to their REAL BUSINESS when they are FORGOTTEN for 15 minutes! A phone caller should not be left on hold for more than 3 minutes to begin with; and if it is due to being so understaffed, then Id give it 5 minutes. Being on hold is NOT acceptable beyond that in the course of GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE.
In-person customers can SEE that you are on the phone! And they can also see that you are not ignoring THEM by merely learning the reason for the call. Make a note and place it WITH THE PHONE with the line the caller is on. And then SOMEone get back to that person WITHING FIVE FLIPPING MINUTES! IF it is so busy that you cant address their need right then, ASK if they would mind being placed back on hold a couple minutes or if they would like you to CALL THEM BACK! HELLO! WHERE did these people go to school?!
I passed my entire customer service class with ONE POINT less than perfect and NEVER OPENED THE BOOK except to see that it was all COMMON SENSE! Seriously. Are you not aware never mind. CLEARLY you are not aware OR simply just dont CARE!
Customer service has gone straight down the toilet in this self-centered, TECHNOLOGICAL, fast paced JOKE of an economy, and I, for one, am fed up with it!
GRANTED, there are a few incredibly kind employees there who DO understand customer service who do their utmost to extend warmth and care to their customers. Perhaps THEY should be answering the phones instead of this guy... smh They are the only reason I didn't give a 1 star rating!
Don't ignore your customer's needs or talk down to them. Don't make excuses. And learn how to ASK people if they are alright being placed on hold [then check back on them within 5 minutes at the most] - thank you!
Preferred solution: I want them to learn how to answer a phone properly and NOT leave the caller hanging for 15 minutes and then treat the CUSTOMER like a bother!
User's recommendation: Choose another pharmacy - only language they understand.

If you don't like the carts they offer you can certainly go out and buy one of your own.
You need to go back and reread the ADA. In no way does it require any retailer to provide any type of motorized transport for consumers. Please provide the link to where you claim Walmart is in violation.
