Walmart - Account Hacked Savings Catcher and Gift Card Money Stolen
Got a refund on the savings catcher amount but did not get the gift cards replaced. They said that was under a different department and I never heard back from them.
I created by Wal-Mart Pay Account on Friday 9-14-18 so I could continue the Saving Cather program. All my saved gift cards totaling $20.00 and Savings Catcher balance of $104.64 showed up in the new account.
I had to turn off the switches so they wouldn't be used at checkout. Was saving it all to use at Christmas. Added my Discover card to use as payment. On Sunday 9-16-18 someone in Washington Store number 3216 empty my savings catcher plus $20.00 in gift cards.
I live in Oklahoma. I found out after getting an email alert that my account email have been changed but I had not changed it. I called and they confirmed by email had been changed. I got it changed back and changed the password.
I was then worried about my savings catcher balance. The person I called forward my call to another number that did not answer. I called the next morning and reported by money had been used at a store in Washington. They filled out a report to send to Tier 2 and I should here something in 30 days.
Fortunately they didn't use by Discover card that was on the account that I have seen yet. I deleted it from my Wal-Mart account and will never put it on there again. I froze my Discover card for the time being. They said I would get my funds back and I hope so that is a lot of scanning receipts and entering numbers just to have someone take it.
I don't have much trust in the Wal-Mart Pay now. Don't know if I will ever use it.
The person with customer service was nice so will just see what happens. Don't save up your saving catcher funds, spend them as soon as you can and don't store gift cards in your account either.
