I really want to know the answer to this question: Are you, by law, allowed to hire people who do not know any English? I now live in Texas and it seems as if over 70 percent of Walmart workers do not speak any English. Please advise.

Product or Service Mentioned: Walmart Cashier.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $15.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

Walmart Pros: Location.

Walmart Cons: Too many to add but for now no one can speak english.

  • Speak English

Yes meaning that Walmart is allowed to hire people who cannot speak English? May I ask how you know this as I would like to research it myself. Thanks!

There is no law against them hiring someone that does not speak English. It is also against the law to refuse employment based on nationality, so there is that. Everyone has to work, regardless of what language they speak.
