Walmart - Disappointed Customer
On September 6, 2018 I saw and purchased an Adult Tricycle at Walmart on line. The ad stated if I had it delivered to the store and called ahead I would get a complimentary assembly.
It was to arrive at the store on Sept. 10. I tried to call the store at 8337 S. Stewart, in Chicago, IL.
They have the worst customer service. The telephone just rings and rings. When they do answer, they put you on hold and holding times go on and on, sometimes they never come back. It was so frustrating, over several days from 9/10/18, I could not get anyone to answer the phone to determine if my tricycle had arrived, so I could know what needed to be done to get it assemble.
I called customer service, who finally after more than one attempt, manage to contact them for me, got them to say they would get the tricycle assemble. I went to the store, claimed the tricycle, and waited for them to get it assemble. The manager at the "Pick-Up, told me it would be done the following Monday, 9/17/18, it never got done, and no one ever called me as she promised. I am a senior citizen, over 60 years old, I can't put together a three wheel bike correctly.
Had to pay a taxi to bring the bike home unassembled. This was my only option, or cancel the order, after getting my hopes up on having this bike. Would not have made the purchase if I could not get it assembled. Walmart should not offer to do this if it cannot honor this promise.
The store on 8337 S. Stewart in Chicago, has some mean people working there. I felt like they did not appreciate me as a customer. I was told by Ken at Pick -up, I don't assemble Bikes.
The person who I was led to believe would do the assembly, just never showed up. Bike cost me $362.52.
Now I shall have to find and pay someone to assemble it. This is just not good business.
Reason of review: Promises not kept to assemble Bike.
Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered.

Typical walmart many promises but nothing happens. The customer is not the top priority any day. When you pay for cheap that is what you will get.
