Hazleton, Pennsylvania

I went to walmart today to cash 1 of their money order. First the woman told me they don't cash it and to go to the post office.

I told her it wasn't a postal money order it was from Walmart. After arguing with her she finally saw where it said Walmart on it. By the way, this is a manager I was dealing with. After about 5 minutes she hands me $5.94.

The money order was only $6. I asked her what happened to the $.06 and she said it was a fee to cash the check. Really?????? They charge to cash their own check.

They charge for the money order then charge to cash it.

Absolute ***!!! I'm not complaining about the $.06, it's the fact that they double charge.

MoneyGram and Walmart are two different companies. I suggest that you find out about a company and what you are using or doing before you spend the money.

It's *** to not know. Try taking some responsibility.

You were charged six cents and you are complaining like a child. My one year old nephew acts better than you.

According to Walmart's readily available policy:

Check Cashing Fees

Cashing your check at your local Walmart is affordable, with fees based on the amount of the check:

For checks up to and including $1000: $3.00

For checks over $1000 up to and including $5000: $6.00

So you got off easy paying only 6 cents because according to Walmart's own policy cashing that money order should have cost you $3.

I'm sure that it was clearly posted that there would be a fee for this service. It takes the associates time to cash, so they charge you to pay for their time.

You are right but you cannot blame this person for the misunderstanding. This person is a child and probably does not know how to read. So she did not see that it was clearly posted.

A Walmart money order is not a WalMart check. The money orders do come from another company.

If you had looked at the money order really carefully I bet you would have seen a name of another company on it too. It also doesn't matter that the employee you were dealing with was a manager, with all the stress managers have, they are entitled to make a mistake occasionally.

Apparently you think you are perfect, but you don't seem to know that it isn't proper to use "1" instead of spelling it out.

It is six cents, the service is not free, get a job if you feel you were double charged. Six cents is not double $5.94.

They have every right to charge you for services. If you lived in another country say even Canada and you were changing money to US dollars you would be charged a fee.

If you were using coinstar to count your coins you would be charged a fee. This is a silly complaint about someone who is too silly to pay for their services.
