iam know ALOT OF PEOPLE THAT WORK AT WALMART, THEY DONT CARE FOR THEIR EMPLOYEES , THEIR SCH , COMES OUT 3 WKS AHEAD ALL YEAR AND NOE THEY WONT SHOW OR TELL THEM THEIR SCH FOR THE WEEK OF THANKSGIVING , WHAT THE WALTONS ARNT THANKFUL FOR NOTHING , SAM WOULD BE ROLLING , HE WAS NEVER OPEN ON THANKSGIVING AND HE DIDNT TREAT THE EMPLOYEES THIS WAY , I AM SPEAKING FOR ANUMBER OF PEOPLE THAT HAVE WORKED THEIR FOR MANY YEARS AND THEY ARE BEING THANKEN ADVANTAGE OF EVERYDAY , THEY ARE FINALLY LOOKING FOR NEW EMPLOYMENT , AFTER YEARS OF BEING AT THEIR BECK AND CALL THAY ARE FED UP , HEY WHAT ARE THE WALTONS THANK FUL FOR , NOTHING , NOTHING AT ALL BUT MONEY , NO WONDER THE SALES ARE DOWN AND THEY HAVE TO CUT HRS , O BUT THE EVENT WILL MAKE UP FOR IT AND THEY WANT YOU TO WORK HRS UPOND HRS , SREW WALMART , I SEE THEM NOT BEING AROUND IN THE YRS TO COME , BOY COT WALMART , I KNOW ALOT OF PEOPLE THAT ARE DOING IT RIGHT NOW AND REFUSE TO GIVE THEM ANOTHER CENT , THEY AND I WILL DRIVE WAY OUT OF OUR WAY TO GO ELSWHERE . WALMART DONT TREAT CUSTOMERS THAT MAKE THE PAY CHECKS AND EMPLOYEES THAT WORK THEIR *** OF WITH ANY RESPECT , IF THEY DID THEN THEY WOULD SHOW THE EMPLOYEES THE SCH. FOR THE HPOILIDAY , O THEY CALL IT THE EVENT , THATS ALL THEY WORRIE ABOUT IS THE EVENT , BLACK FRIDAY , SCREW YOUR EVENT I HOPE ALL EMPLOYEES WALK OUT AND FIND A EMPLOYER THAT REALLY CARES ABOUT THEM AND THAT RESPECTS THEM AND LETS THEM HAVE THANKSGIVING DINNER WITH THEIR FAMILIES , OTR SO THEY CALL MAKE ARRANGMENTS FOR DINNER , AND NOT 5 DAYS BEFORE THE HOILIDAY , I JUST THINK THE WALTONS ARE A REAL JOKE AND I HOPE THEY GO OUT OF BUSINESS BECAUSE THATS WHAT IT WILL TAKE FOR THEM TO APPRECIATE THEIR EMPLOYEES , THE BIG EVENT , SCREW YOUR EVENT BOY COT BOY COT BOY COT

Peter, they basically have the same holiday work laws more or less. Checked triplets other posts, he is 14, what does he know about the the labor force. Not saying it to be mean or anything, just saying.

People know what they're getting into when the go to work for Walmart when it comes to the holidays. It's been this way for years, and yes I work there and have for 7 years.

No offence to the company that you work for or anything, but they are the ones setting the pace. They are the first company that is forcing employees to work during holidays(which I believe is illegal) and now other companies are following through.

That does not make it okay. They also don't pay extra for those holidays because they set the pace that they are no longer holidays.

No one is forced to work through the holidays. They are welcome to call in or leave at any time, it's not like they are chained to their posts.

It is not illegal for companies to be open on holidays. For some people, the holidays are just another day depending on their beliefs and country of origin. Employees do get paid holiday pay (time and a half) for New Years, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day, and they don't even have to work the day of the holiday to get this pay, as long as they were scheduled off and did not call in.

I worked at Walmart for a few years ago, and at my store, of course the black Friday sale was all hands on deck, but that came with perks of its own, like an extra 20% an entire purchase for working it, and Christmas Eve they scheduled everyone for four hour shifts unless you volunteered to work longer (at my store, anyway). Also, during the holiday season they give all associates 10% off of merchandise that usually dies not qualify.
