Yes, ADA service dogs are allowed in....but MUST remain on the floor or in a person's arms.....but this is NOT happening at Walmart. Pets are in the shopping carts.....

very unsanitary. And some do lunge at customers...so they are NOT bona fide SERVICE animals.

I am going to now shop at a smaller local store because I am disgusted with sharing my carts with animals.....Walmart is too lax on sanitation IMHO. And one day, an animal will bite, and they will be sued.

Reason of review: Pets in stores in shopping carts.

Preferred solution: Monitor pets in stores and in shopping carts.

WHAT IF ONE OF THE DOGS GRABS A PACKAGE OF MEAT AND EATS IT, UNBEKNOWNST TO THE CUSTOMER, AND THE CUSTOMER LEAVES WITHOUT PAYING FOR IT. WILL THE STORE SECURITY OFFICERS DETAIN THEM AND CALL LAW ENFORCEMENT TO HAVE THEM ARRESTED? OR, WILL THEY BE ALLOWED TO PAY FOR THE PACKAGE OF MEAT THAT THE DOG ATE, AND GO ON THEIR WAY HOME?

Same question goes for a child in a cart that grabs something and eats it.

Why are you so concerned about a dog riding in a cart? I'd be a lot more concerned about the human children that ride in the cart and slobber all over the handle you have your hands on as you push the cart. You are much more likely to catch something from that child than any dog riding in the cart.

Dogs emit fleas, lice, worms, etc.....I can clean the handlebars ona cart...but not the total shopping cart itself.....there are laws in place from Health Dept's too....they are just not being enforced by Walmart. And...the vast many babies I see in carts are in their own seats, or have a blanket covering the seat or cart area.....hence, my concern.

Interesting that you have seen this happen at a Walmart---who knew? You might try calling the county health dept.

to see what they say about something like this. I don't know who regulates this stuff, but it would be interesting to find out and complain.

Perhaps, if you could take a photo with your cell phone camera the next time you encounter this it would carry more weight. Bottom line: some people with pets are not rocket scientists.
