We picked up a two tiered ale for our vow renewal. It was about 60% nice but 40% of the cake was covered by a badly botched edible ribbon.
It was wrinkled, discolored by bleeding, and part of it was even upside down! Thank goodness we had fake roses on hand to cover the unsightly mess. At least it tasted great. When we called the bakery manager later to let her know she was polite, apologized and refunded the cost of the cake.
So, not an entirely bad story....but lesson learned: Walmart had poor quality control.
Do some quality control yourself by checking the cake several hours or better yet a day before the event. If it’s bad maybe they’ll have time to fix it.
Reason of review: Bad quality.
Monetary Loss: $64.
Preferred solution: I was already given a refund. Just posting this to inform others who may order cakes for special occasions. I do have a recommendation: robust quality control procedures for special cakes..
Walmart Pros: Management was nice at store, Very affordable.
Walmart Cons: No cake quality control.
