Again, long lines at Suffern NY Walmart. Bought one bottle of fuel injector cleaner which was scanned twice at checkout.

Asked the cashier who smirked and said, no, only scanned once. Didn't check the receipt until I got home - sure enough, scanned twice. If I had walked out with a $4,29 item, Walmart would have prosecuted me for shoplifting.

But Walmart can steal from me with impunity. Emailed their HQ; was promised a follow-up, but so far no word from store manager.

Now I will; check every receipt twice - if every customer who has been scammed will do this, the lines will slow down and Walmart will react, but only when their bottom line is affected.

Reason of review: Problems with payment.

Monetary Loss: $4.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

Location: 250 NY-59, Suffern, NY 10901, USA

All stores, not just Walmart. Error reads are common by sensitive scanners.

Customers need to check all receipts BEFORE going home. Just make it a habit!

I miss shopping back in "The Good Old Days" when the cashiers at stores would type in the price by hand.

That's why I go at night when there not busy the lady caught it a few times. There scanners are very sensitive.

Double scanning and incorrect price scans are now common not only at Walmart buy at most large stores like Meijer, etc. You need to tell the cashier to not start scanning until you have all your stuff unloaded and ready to be scanned so you can then carefully watch as each item is being scanned.

If they go too fast, tell them to slow down. If you don't understand the price being scanned then stop them and verify the price. Kroger is a prime example of how the store can scam customers---the way items ring up and then the discount comes off at the end is just another way for them to confuse you and charge incorrect prices. Meijer has taken to not entering the posted prices into their system so it scans at a higher price.

This is getting ridiculous, so slow them down, even if there is a line behind you. It's your money.

In your example, you believed a Walmart cashier and you should know better. She was too lazy to verify it didn't scan twice and just said "no."

You have got to keep a close eye on them when they are ringing up your order to catch those double-scans. If you don't notice it, and then it gets double scanned, then you got to go through all of the Rigamaro of going and waiting in a long line at the customer service desk. I always add up everything I'm buying in my head and add the 10% tax to it, that way if something rings up twice, then I can have then take it off my order before I pay.

Grow up, customers are not always right.

Should have been easy to catch at the store as the price was close to 1/3 of the total purchase price. You should have looked at the receipt when the cashier gave it to you.

Try using the self check out area.
