My finance works for wal-mart and he just found out that he has to work all day thanksgiving day. what kind of *** is that.

he has been there for 7 years and never once has he had a holiday off. i think wal-mart is a *** company when it comes to their employees. they need to learn that employees are people not dogs. its like they expect you to put your life on hold just to work for them.

its not fair and i think that all the managers should have to work every holiday instead of making $250,000 a year in bonuses and getting 6 weeks paid vacation. they should see how it feels having their rights takin away just lie my finance has.

seems like half the people posting on here really don't need to be posting, they need to go back to school and learn how to either spell or type.

With so many out of work right now, quit *** and be grateful for what you do have! Sounds like you need to get off your *** and look for a job instead of compaining!

My comment is not directly related to what has already been posted but my own personal experience as a person who is married to someone who works at Walmart as an assistant manager.

It isnt the holidays that they have to work that seems unreasonable, but rather that managers are salary, but are constantly having to come in on days off, at the request of the Store manager or Shift managers. (shifts are kinda like a manager above the assistants)

they ask people to come in and work on there day off to cover because they are operating with less than a normal size staff in place.

Now, when you take into consideration how many hours they work and then the extra days they are asked to "volunteer" during the end of the year at holiday sales times, they are being taken advantage of and working much more than the 48 hours a week they have agreed to, since there salary is based in 40 hours to start with.

We as consumers should think about boy cotting all these sales that start at 10 pm, 12am and so on. It used to be the sales started at 6 am on friday after THX Gving, but now Walmart employee's have to work on thxG and that nite late, and all day on friday.....

Cant we as consumers plan far enough ahead that people do not have to work on every holiday except x-mas? and x-mas in some cases...

I think it would be really cool if the employee's of walmart, target, sears could all have thanksgiving off one year.........if they would all close together, we wouldnt have to worry about them fighting over who is gonna get our money......

My spouse does not complain about working days that are not on the schedule and pretty much working for free, because he/she are just happy to have a job. I think retail owners/executives know this and prey on this.... those of you who get to spend the holiday with your family, make sure to take a moment at the table and thank the Lord that you are fortunate enough to be spending that time with family, while those working should be thankful they have a job at all. those in between should be thankful as well, myself included.

God Bless all of you.

O.K. Tasha, I wasn't going to judge you,but you said you deserve it.

There are enough sites on the computer to indulge your tastes in bed, you don't need to post them here. Have you no dignity?

So, Tasha, you are into the rough stuff? That's off the chart sick! No one judges you for what you do in your private life, just quit posting your preferences on line!

Tasha must be both male and female since she wants to date you and stick her point on you! Her name should be "Martha ..." because she is *** for you.

first things first....i never compared any of my situations to the military. futhermore i doubt who ever posted that they were in the military is probably not and is just looking for some teenage piece of butt on here so thats why they say they are in the military.

second of all i appreciate my country and my military very much. so do not sit there and say that i compare my situations to them unlike these other ***. and why can't anyone stay on point does anyone on here have a high-school education? I thought that they still taught english in high-school but it does not seem like they do.

Other than anonymous nobody on here can type worth a ***.

and as far as i'm concerned everybody on here rthat has bashed me since i have posted on here you all can SUCK MY @#$%. thank you very much and have a nice day.

If your fiance is still working at Walmart as an hourly after 7 years then he doesn't have much ambition and you should dump him.

Kinda puts things into perspective, doesn't it? After getting out of the Army, having to work the occasional holiday or week-end is nothing now compared to what it used to be.

I can actually go home after work instead of back to a track or a tent inside the wire. And also get holiday pay now - something we didn't get in those days.

Wait just a friggen minute! You and the OP have a lot of nerve comparing yourselves and your situations to our military.

Do you understand that when you are in the military, the military "owns" you? They have the right to control 24 hours of your day - every day! They have the right to ship service men out regardless of how his girlfriend feels about it! They have the right to put your very life in harms way and you run the very real chance of never coming back to loved ones at home.

How dare you or anyone else compare yourselves and your retail jobs to our heros guarding our lives and our liberties. Each of you should be ashamed of yourselves and retract such selfish statements!

Shame on you both!!

walmart is a very abusive company. they want you to do more than what you can.

for example: my boyfriend works in hardware. most days he also has to cover housewares, automotive, fabrics and crafts, funiture, clearance, and lawn and garden. so i think putting up with that qualifies him to be off at least one holiday. other than xmas.

and the man who made the military comment.....heres the thing.....if you get sick you automatically have a hosiptal on base that you can go to. if you are out for more than two weeks then thats fine.

but at walmart if you are out for two weeks then you can plan on not having a job. so you really have no room to open your mouth.

*** Do they make him work on his Birthday too? that is just wrong......lol j/k grow up.

If you want to state that Walmart doesnt care about families based on the percentage of walmart associates who must rely on medicaid or go uninsured.

That is a different story. Hope you family enjoys the holiday pay they will be forcing him to earn.

Just think: if customers didn't want the stores open on Thanksgiving or any other holiday, they wouldn't be shopping on the holiday! Simple: refuse to shop on a holiday, sales will decrease and hopefully the store will close down for those holidays.
