people need to know how Walmart operates now..

For me, I am pretty much writing Walmart off my buying sources.

The 2002 Prius incident

A few years ago I used to use Walmart to change my oil and buy tires etc. I had bought a 2002 Prius and took it to them for an oil change.

They changed the oil and I drove off but instantly the motor started missing severly. I barely made it back to the stall and turned it off and notified the mechanic. It would not restart. Upon checking the oil level I had seen that it was over full by about 1/8".

They tried numerous times to restart the car but it would not. I had it towed to the house. Upon doing research I found that if you bring the oil level up to even the mark on the 2002 , it runs a chance that it will spill internally and mess up the MAF sensor. I just took the HV battery apart (as I had done this when I first bought the car) and just recharged each module .

Then cleaned the MAF sensor after removing oil til it was below the full mark. This took me 3 days to do and 2 days off from my work. I did restart the car and had no mmore problem with it.

In this instance , WalMart employees not knowing what amount of oil to use cost me a LOT of time and effort to get the hybrid car running again. Yes, I was furious.

If it had been taken to a dealer as I should have done, they would have documented it and charged $4,000 for a battery as there is no charger for these cars..

I just forgot about it and did not use WalMart to change any more oil or buy tires from

The heat pad incident....

This really began a month ago. I purchased a hot/cold pad (Heat in microwave or cool in fridge)

and read the instructions on the label for usage (like most anyone else would do)

I have used these for years with no problem. This time I wasa using it on my arm.

read instructions again, and used 75 seconds as the amount/time in microwave.

Put pad on and let it do its thing. When cool, did this same thing again , 2 more times, each time letting it cool.

The last time I took it from the microwave and it was swelled up. as I took it from the microwave shelf, the bag that houses the clay substrate exploded blowing steam on my hand and burning me severely.

It all happened in an instant and I dropped the bag. I ran cold water on my hand fror about 20 minutes but determined that it wasa a severe burn and more was needed. I went to store and bought an alohe vera plant and took a leaf and cut it open to use the juices to put on my burn.

I did this for the next couple hous and several times more over next 24 hours is why my hand only bistered badly.

I still have the pad and pictures to document this, but was just going to buy another one and save the refund trip.

The Egg Custard incident..twice..

Had been buying the only brand of egg custard Walmart carried Ias I don't like the egg nog spices and had bought maybe 6 or 7 over last holiday season. (this is Jan) Each was fine (a little on the weak flavor side, but fine) his time I open last one and it is quite thick. I tasted it and seemed ok just real thick like molasses. I just discarded the bottle as I thought it was just a bad one.

Went back 3 days later and bought 2 more of same bottles. Walmart usually only has a few each time as I am sure it is not a big seller, but this time there were three times as many. Getting home and opening one of the bottles, it was real thick again like molasses, so I opened the next one. Same deal, thick like molasses.

I took them to Walmart for a refund a couple days later and there was a very long line in the refund booth with only one person at counter.

Some overweight black woman came in and out of counter area and roamed the front of the store several times . about 30 minutes later she went to counter and in a bad attitude way hollered "next". after maybe 10 more minutes it came my turn.

I pulled the egg custard bottles out of the bag and showed them to her and she asked for a receipt. I stated I never keep grocery receipts, ever.

and she said she could only exchange them for same item. After getting 3 bad in a row, i was not wanting any more of that product and I told her this. When I opened the bottle, i said "see its bad" but she jumped back like I was going to spray her with it (looking like she was attempting to make some public spectacle )..I just turn bottle upside down over counter to show it was not going to pour and she acted like I had just brough a bomb in and laid it on the counter. (again I think she was trying to make a big public spectacle) I said the product is bad as you can see , this is supposed to be safe for anyone to open and drink...but she was acting like it was a sin I opened the lid.

Anyways, I just set the bottles on the counter and walked off as she said I left my bottles. I said I don't want this product nor the same one , so am simply done with this deal as Walmarts policy was not going to result in anything but more dissatisfaction. I stated I just need to see a manager . She stated enphatically "I AM the manager", I just walked off as I did not want any more of her bad attitude she clearly exibited through the whole ordeal.

I went to a different department and asked to talk to te store manager and was told I would need to go to the refund counter and ask there.

I stated I had already been there and they had a bad attitude. I was told they were the only ones that could call a store manager.

This was where I could easily see that the store manager is quite well 'insulated' from any customer requests and it's obvious no one is going to be able to do so.

I called a customer service 800 number and got one of those 'outsourced' indians that I could barely understand and he said he would have THE store manager call me in 1-2 business days.

I buy thousands of dollars of product from Walmart every year as well as have all mine and wifes prescriptions there, but looks like it's time to shop elsewhere. Walmart is not only refusing to restock items, they simply are proving they are not interested in their customers experience.

Their pharmacy has a lot to be desired... Last prescription I had filled there, The bottle clearly had 90 pills on the label (90 day supply) but they had only put 30 pills in it.

I had to drive back to walmart to get the rest of them . Pharmacist apologized and stated he had no clue how that happened. It is rare that they can get my wifes prescription correct if I use the phone menu to refill it.

Most of time I have to call the DR and have them manually call Walmart as the system is pretty much broken and does not work. .

I'm pretty much done there...its simply not worth the headache of shopping there .

Hunters Crossing WOULD be a good location for a REAL Walmart though.

Monetary Loss: $4060.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

Walmart Cons: Numerous.

Location: 1030 Hunters Crossing, Alcoa, TN 37701
