Terrible medication mixup happened today at the Walmart pharmacy in NE Salem.
An electronic prescription was sent from our medical provider to the pharmacy in Ne Salem to be filled.
A text alert let us know the medication was ready to be picked up.
The error was in the pharmacy in the preparation & dispensing of the prescription for our family member that just happens to be a minor child and very medically fragile. Knowing what your being prescribed,how to take the prescription also how often is very critically important. We all went to the counter for pharmacy consult with the pharmacist. We were given measuring syringe,instructions for the medication. We proceeded home to make light meal for our child dispense the medication it was granular and had a strong fruit scent. This was very wrong.
I promptly returned to the pharmacy with all packaging,receipt,bottles,etc.
