According to bloomberg.com, in April 2019, Walmart announced that it would use reusable plastic bags made with recycled plastic fibers at cash registers in all their stores across the United States. Walmart is rolling out 10 new designs available for $0.98 each. The company is going to eliminate plastic bags at stores by 2025.
As stated in edition.cnn.com, Walmart has also been working on cutting emissions from its global supply chain. The company will increase the use of textiles and move towards being 100% powered by renewable energy by 2025.

The Jupiter Walmart started out with the 0.98cent bags, but they have not been seen again. Now the rack is filled with canvas tote bags that cost $5.00! And 3-4 folding bags at $3.98. This store is ALWAYS half full of merchandise; seems they can't ever keep best selling regular items in stock. So I'll believe they'll have the 0.98 bags available daily---when I see it.
