I ordered a Nintendo switch for in store pickup. The order was confirmed by 2 pm and said it would be available by 8 pm.
Unfortunately by 7:00 I still had not received the email it was ready for pickup. I was at the Walmart already finally doing the grocery shopping Id put off all day waiting for that email. I checked in with the staff at the Pickup location where they confirmed my order and said since it wasnt ready yet, it would most likely be ready by the morning. Just as I got home though (about 15 minutes later) I received the email it was cancelled as the item was no longer in stock.
It never even warned me at purchase there was a limited stock left. At the time of checking the cancellation, there was a different switch bundle available for the same price. Again no warning of limited stock but that it was with free 2 day delivery, pickup wasnt available. So I ordered it again.
Two days later instead of receiving the package, I received yet another email the item was cancelled due to unavailability. But now these SAME systems are being sold through 3rd party retailers on Walmarts website for double the cost or even triple!
They really need to work on a system (like maybe using captcha at checkout) to weed out all the bots these 3rd parties are bragging about using to grab all these high ticket items to resell them at way higher costs to try and make money. Especially with a pandemic making buying such items already difficult for families.
Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered.
Walmart Pros: Competitive pricing, Savings, Have all in one place.
Walmart Cons: Stock issues, Stock availability.
