Purchased a Walmart gift card of $175 for my daughters school trip to New York back in April. She used the card once in NY for Ice Cream, a purchase of $7.
The card was compromised and the remaining funds stolen. Once we knew we called the contact phone number and was assisted by someone who was going to have the card refunded for the $168 balance. Took forever to get the card and the amount refunded was for $117.56. This is where the real fun began.
Since then we have made numerous attempt to contact the 866-633-9096 number only to be told the system is not available (going on 3 weeks).
The website WalmartGiftcard.com shows a zero balance on the card and their site has been unavailable for the past several weeks. Hoping that contacting Better Business and local TV consumer help number might assist as I'm sure this lack of assistance from Walmart a common complaint.
Reason of review: Poor customer service.
Monetary Loss: $168.
Preferred solution: Full refund.
I didn't like: That they wont take resposibility.
